Yeah, I thought the Dems could have managed to seem enthusiastic about some of the things Trump mentioned last night...but, this has become such an "angry" division among our population that I think the Dems just believed their best action was to take no action either way.
I wish I could see it your way, Al...sure, the world of business seems to be jumping on the Trump wagon...that's to be expected, it's what he's done all of his life and he has what HE thinks are good ideas about how to proceed. I'm not sure I see it his way. It's obvious from what I've heard that the only portion of the population who will see any sort of financial boost is the already wealthy...again, it's what Trump knows, he wouldn't know how to talk to a coal miner if they dumped a truckload of coal on his doorstep. He's never been or done anything other than what lifestyle the affluent would have, so he doesn't understand the day-to-day struggles that those of us in the middle class face...and as I see it he doesn't just understand those struggles, he doesn't want to. He only "caters" to the wealthy.
Class warfare, anyone? I've predicted it for about a decade and hope I'm wrong, but if we have a POTUS who caters only to his socio-economic peers, the ultra-wealthy, how can we really believe that he has our good fortune in mind?
Right....we can't.
Some of us believe that more than just the stock market has to get better in order to see Trump as a positive force for change. Those with whom I talk really wish Trump would have at least some empathy for them, but there is little hope left when it's obvious Trump doesn't care for the common man...only those who are in his income bracket.
I must admit, if I'd been in that chamber last night, I'd probably have sat on my hands, too. He's not doing what I think is necessary...far from it.
