Planning a generic build

Sorry Curtis, I did mean Kellison (silly me). The Wildfire project could be exciting.
I remember when I was around 5 or 6 years old watching a TV show that built one in
a few hours with a gang of people.

I have built a Mclaren M8B replica using a Rover / Audi transaxle set up in a tube frame with a track weight of 700kg`s. The Rover is basicly stock but has been fully freshened and rebuilt with polished heads, a hot cam (stand lifters) and 4 twin choke down drafts ex Alfa 33`s. I would like to think that I have 230 hp and thats the same power to weight ration as a Dodge Viper and way fast enough to get in trouble. I have not run the car full speed yet for various reasons, how ever 4th gear at 5700rpm is an effortless 120mph so I reckon fifth gear must be good for 130mph plus.
One of the good things about the set up is that its almost period correct and the sound is just to die for.
Food for thought.

I can well imagine how nice that must sound. What an amazing job you have done there

My engine plans changed again when a member on another forum ( non car related ) contacted me saying he owns a specialist Porsche garage and builds cars to order.
He reckons he can source me the parts to build up an engine for not too much money ( relatively speaking ) I spent quite a few years rebuilding engines professionally, so I'm confident in my ability to do that.

Best news so far is that I now have somewhere to build the body. Once it warms up a bit that is....

Cool,
Glad you liked it !
It's a bit of all our roots.
The first two Wildfires were built in 1952.
Mine was built in March of 53 and I belive the eleventh one.
After watching that show,
it makes you think .....Hey I can do that !
And Yes We Will !

Sounds like your project is coming togther.
It's Great when that happens !

Cheers !

Over in front of the barn is a Kellison 40,
and I have most the body parts of another one.
!

I was going to ask until I saw this post. I thought it looked like a Kellison. I have 2 complete ones. One I am refurbishing for sale and the other I am going to do a custom build. I am currently leaning toward a Valkyrie MC engine to power it. Although I do have 3 GL1000 engines, I might pair 2 together. Virtually any bike engine will put the VW engine to shame, even the modified ones.

Russell,

LOVE the car and use it as inspiration for mine (though about 200 kG heavier than yours). Perhaps I've missed it, but is there a Youtube video or sound bit available? BTW, the Webers are on a 351W intake sitting on top of the LS2 block just for added inspiration. After looking at it, I don't think there is any way I'll be able to go with the OEM black plastic intake. I'm ruined.
