I'm glad I am not the only one that had those thoughts...I'm interested....Am I interested enough to sell my GT40 and buy a kit, maybe.
The 962 also has a drivetrain issue too with the large spacer that needs to be put between the engine and the trans to get the out put shafts to line up...yet another wrench in the works that dictates only a certain package can be used.
In 2014 dollars for the Dauer would be approx 2.1M USD, I got away pretty cheap with Fran then! I admit I had a little fiddle factor at first, Fran came through with the 962C tail. The nice thing about the 962, is there were so many permutations of bodywork, aerodynamics, engines used, wheel sizes etc that fiddle factor is irrelevant. Other than I don't have a factory 962 VIN (962-XXX).
...the really big showstopper for street usage was the lack of a Glass DOT windshield for the car...
