Radiator mounting?

Is it necessary to isolate the radiator form the chassis with soft mounts to protect it from vibration. If so, what did you use?

Yes it's necessary. The GT40 chassis will flex which will crack the rad sooner or later.
I used silendblocks M6, positioned on the side of the rad. i think I have four on each side.
Silendblocks come in different shapes & sizes. Stud on one side, stud on both sides or no studs just thread inside.

I had C&R Racing design and fabricate a custom radiator and shroud for my SL-C. I was able to increase the width of the radiator while adding two isolators per side. Apparently the side tanks only need to be wide for the inlet and outlet tubes. They used this isolator from McMaster: https://www.mcmaster.com/4403K79/. While this approach leaves gaps between the radiator and the sides that they're mounted to, the inlet duct should force the air to the outer edge of the radiator core (i.e., not the radiator side tanks). So this is only not an issue, it provides lots of options for routing things like the condenser lines and you don't have excess water weight in side tanks.

This was my approach. Used some Urethane muffler grommets…

Fabricated mounting plates to provide some room for the grommets..
