Right hand drive

In New Zealand we can get a left hand drive permit to drive American cars on our roads,(ie left hand drive cars):Is there such a thing in America to drive a right hand drive car on the roads ?
( ie a right hand drive GT40) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

Nope,

Amazingly there is no US standard for drive side. RHD is legal and OK. In fact Subaru sells RHD cars here to mail and newspaper carriers. I have driven both a 40 and an AC 428 with RHD on the roads here. Just takes a little extra care.

Same in California, n the early 80's I had both a RHD AC 289 Cobra and a MKII Jag sedan, DMV did not care about that issue. Might be an insurance problem now.
