Scary!

Jim,

Thanks for pointing out my error...I had trouble reading the sentence apparently. I will retract that but not the rest - in fact I could go on about Brians's diatribe, but I am eating El Pollo Loco.

Mike

Instead of bad mouthing Glenn Beck or anyone else who blows the whistle on the idiots we have elected (espedially in congress)you should be thanking and praising them for their research and for informing the public.

Glen Beck is another Rush Limbaugh:

"After high school graduation, Glenn pursued his career as a Top 40 DJ at stations all over the country. Eventually, he landed an opportunity in Corpus Christi, Texas, as the youngest morning guy in the U.S. at 18 years old. His career was soaring and took him to Top 40 morning shows in Baltimore, Houston, Phoenix, Washington, and New Haven, Conn. He rode the wave of professional success into the 1990s when things began to change. Today, Glenn points out, "When you have that kind of success that early in life, it's easy for you to turn into a monster. And I did! I was not a good guy."

At the age of 30, Glenn lost his passion for radio - and everything else - as alcoholism and drug addiction took him over. Struggling to find some answers to his problem, Glenn pursued higher education. Though he was accepted by Yale as a Theology major, he lasted only one semester, faced with a divorce from his first wife and separation from his two daughters - the oldest with Cerebral Palsy. He was emotionally and financially decimated and relegated to one of the smallest radio markets. The shooting radio star had fallen to earth."

Investigative journalist is a lofty title for this nut.

How great do you think it will be when the government takes over the car companies to keep us all safe? They will design us the car that they think we need. Can you see a Yugo with a bumper all the way arround it and a 1 volt motor.

I could care less what happens to GM and Chrysler (except to teh extent that it affects my investments). You are talking to someone who has taken GM to arbitration before for the POS they make.

However, they aren't necessarily taking them over yet - they are propping them up and prodding them to get GM to WAKE UP and to come up with a viable plan for recovery. If they didn't do this, GM would be in the toilet and more people would be out of jobs and the economy would suffer more. This isn't governments fault for trying to stabilize the economy, it is GMs fault for sucking. The Government aren't controlling Chrysler either, they are propping them up until teh FIAT deal is through - or else they go in the toilet. This info is on the news.

Do you seriously think the US Giovenrment wants to run a car company? "Come On!" (as spoken by Will Arnet on Arrested Development.

"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world - no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." President Woodrow Wilson concerning the Federal Reserve 1915

"We have, in this country, one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board. This evil institution has impoverished the people of the United States and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it." - Congressman Louis T. McFadden

"The dirty little secret is that both houses of Congress are irrelevant. America's domestic policy is now being run by Alan Greenspan and the Federal Reserve, and America's foreign policy is now being run by the International Monetary Fund [IMF]. - when the president decides to go to war, he no longer needs a declaration of war from Congress."-Robert Reich Secretary of the Treasury during the Clinton Administration

Printing Money = devaluation of the currency

This means what you own is worth less

The people that printed the money have more to buy your stuff (which is worth less)

The people printing the money are not the Govt - they are private entities, foreign bankers etc

Isn't this scary?

The stimulus package bill for $700Billion was changed at the last stage of voting into an open book cheque already estimated at $7 Trillion, so that little video representation is incorrect because the line on the chart doesn't go up high enough!

Organisations like the WMF and Fed Reserve etc set policies that gave easy credit - passed laws that allow the subprime mortgage scandal to happen, used their sway with media to cause a frenzy, sat back and watched the world tumble into recession - then printed more money then EVER to devalue everything and everyone under the guise of stimulus packages. Taxes then start to go up, water/power/gas/rates increase & it gets harder and harder to make ends meet...... Scary.

One other note, comments above refer to "we voted this way- they voted that way" etc... During the last US administration elections, clearly the votes were manipulated and the results were pathetically and obviously wrong - this was the 1st use of Electronic Voting" for a Presidential Election.
How can the public think they are able to decide who gets in or not if the system used to decide this can be so easily manipulated?
Where are the audits that prove everything was above board? This latest election probably didn't need as much manipulation but it must still be a worry for citizens that have now for all intents and purposes lost their voice.

Just my .02c as an outside observer.

I'm on the verge of touching myself inappropriatel
Ok,
I am sorry I was out all day at a closing and then helping my client move all their belongings. As I am a nice guy. LOL So, I haven't had a chance to defend myself and my, what was it called, "diatribe". Sorry, I had to look that word up. Ok, so my attack on this government and the people in office eh?

Lemme start by saying, I was saying that those who immigrated into this country had a great work ethic. That's what they came here for, opportunity. The opportunity to work hard and make it. Not have everything handed to them. That's what this government is working towards. Oh wait, I need to point out specific places where I find my facts don't I? Ok, so... IN MY OPINION, this is where the country is headed.

It is also MY OPINION that the people who voted for Obama did so because of empty promises. Also, if you'll notice lots of news feeds immediately after the election results, people were talking about how everything was going to be SOOOO much better since he got elected. They're not going to have to worry about their mortgage or putting gas in their cars. I don't need to point out where I got that from, Youtube search it. Quite famous little bit of film.

I know my statement pointing out who voted for him was pretty pointed. But it was meant to be. I know what you're thinking, I'm talking about black people. Mexicans? How about everyone who is living on welfare and it too gotdamn lazy to go out and get a friggin job. I know some white people like that. Quite a damn few actually. I'll tell them all to their face to get off their ass and stop making me pay their bills. Oh yeah, it pisses me off. Welfare should have a time limit. And that doesn't mean a "Lifetime" limit. Everyone needs help sometime, I have no problem with that, but there's only so long they NEED help. Physical damage/disability or mental problems are something completely different. But that shouldn't be welfare. Isn't welfare there to help people get back on their feet?

OK, gun rights eh? How are licenses dangerous? Lemme break it down to you as to how this is something that is going to destroy firearm rights. Lets go step by step? Nah, screw it, I'll just spill it as you enjoy reading my babble. First you license every weapon you have with a government agency. You have to pay for your licenses each year. Now, in order for you to be LEGAL you have to keep this stuff current. Now they have you in the palms of their hands where they can just keep raising the prices of the licenses. They won't TAKE your 2nd Amendment rights from you. They will make them financially impossible. They will make it financially impossible for you to LEGALLY own a firearm. And now they have every one you have recorded and know exactly how much to charge you each year. Do I have facts on this? NO. But if you look with an open mind at how this can be bad, you'll see how easy this is instead of looking at it as some crazy kid talking through his ass about something he has no idea about.

Mike, I mean no disrespect, it's been a really long day man. This is a very adult board and I appreciate all the feedback. I may have come off a bit pointed in this, but I'm pretty passionate about this stuff. I do not like the direction this country is headed and have yet to hear one viable option on what I can personally do that will make a difference. I guess the feeling of being completely helpless pisses me off. LOL

Much respect to all,

Brian

Brian,

We all have opinions - you are as welcome to yours as I am mine. No disrepect intended. I just, for the life of me, can't understand the hopeless feeeling you and others have. You have all the opportunity in the world in this country - turn that frown upside down.

Here is a viable option for you:

Make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

Live a long and prosperous life. That is all anyone can ask for.

In the end, we all end up soup.

Peace,
Mike

The one thing that was wrong about the video clip was that it had never happend before. That's not true, it did, to the Soviet Union. They spend themselves right out of a country and the guy who ended up running it is warning us not to do the same thing.

What we are witnessing is a Communist (home grown) takeover of our country. Go ahead and laugh. We can check back in five years and see if the laughter hasn't turned to tears, if we are allowed to that is.

SpyderMike,

I would like to challenge the perspective in which you view our situation. A short(in relation to the rest of the civilized world) 230 some years ago our founding fathers started this country from scratch. In that short time the USA became one of the most powerful, innovative and wealthy countries in the world. Things like capitalism, and free markets were incentives to build the better mousetrap.

If the USA achieved such incredible success in such a short period of time on these principles, why must we change our game plan (constitution)? Why must we as a country move toward equal outcomes for unequal effort?

I expect you will attack me about something specific even though I am really speaking philosophically. The environment would be a likely point to attack, so I will steal your thunder. How is the USA removing barriers to innovative alternative energies? Carbon credit taxes, automotive regulations that punish bad behavior are dis-incentives. How many criminals are reformed into prosperous members of society by prison terms?

Taxing, spending and regulating to guarantee equal outcomes to unequal effort will eventually ruin this amazing country that I love.

So let me understand you Mike. What you are telling me is you don't believe what is being pointed out because of who is pointing it out - did I get that right?

I don't think I said that - I said Glen Beck is a nut. I really don't care what he said or will say. I put him right up there with the other nut Rush Limbo. I, personally, would never quote them nor would I take their word for anything. But that is just me.

Respectfully,

why are you on the defensive? I haven't attacked anything but a cheesburger in quite a while. I am merely stating my opinion and trying to understand the basis of others'.

I love this country too...in my own special way.

Personally, I think it is a stretch to use that reasoning "guarantee equal outcomes to unequal effort"...there are no guarantees of equal outcome in this world except death - the great equalizer.

Realistically, it's more and ebb and flow isn't it? I mean, really, youv'e probably paid more taxes some other point in your life and then you benefited other times. There have always been social issues. Or do we go back to the depression and the establishment of the social welfare system to pinpoint the initiation of the angst?

Think you will ever use any government entitlements - like social security, medicare, unemployment, etc.?

Nice Alfa avatar by the way.

2000 election
e-voting here

There is plenty more if you search. Infact, there is evidence for the 2000 and 2004 elections.

I have seen the footage of congressmen asking for recounts but the supreme court stepped in and squashed it. How can this not make you question things?
There is no requirement to agree on others views, research and question and ask yourself if it is right....

Where have I been??!!!! Ahhhhhhh MEXICO Lindo,,,,,,,,,

All YOU OLD FARTS,,,,,,,,,,USS (United States of Socialists), is no longer your country.

PLEEEEEASE kindly pack up your preparation H and Viagra and go back to Germany (where food is bland and people are FAT and pink). This country is getting "darker and darker", why are you wasting your time here.

For those of you whom are young (Brian) and not yet brain dead car nuts,,, no worries. There are plenty of American made assault riffles here in Mexico,,,,COME ON DOWN.
Long live Obama,,,,I hope my taxes are raised and all the banks, Auto Manufacturers, oil companies ,,,,,and your grand children are owned by the Government

You confused me with this comment, it wasn't the last election. I thought you were referring to the Obama win. You are referring to the Bush/Gore race.
Or are you saying that ALL elections since then have been manipulated?

Yes,Faili.....Ahhh, Mexico, where you can buy any fully auto armament you want....'cause you need it! Plus, there won't be any problems with health care as the Government has absolutely no involvement in the distribution of drugs! Where the term cartel has an entirely different meaning. And the same with mix-and-match which is played when the government troops try to match the heads with the torsos.Oh,well. Hey,Juanita! mas tequila por favor!...........Still think this country is the worst in the 'civilized' world?

The most dangerous country I have EVER lived in (and I have been in a few), is US of A.

The most arrogant/ignorant people I have ever encountered (beside Iron Sheik) have also been in USA.
Having said all of the above, I would have been certainly DEAD had it not been for US of A.

Now however, it is time for me to become citizen of Mexico. The behadings that are taking place here bring me closer to my original roots.

If US had a few behadings every month (Religous Republicans preferably), I just might come back.
