Shelby Book

I just got a copy of the Shelby Registry,

Its a very large book and has much info about all things Shelby, including a very large section on GT40s both original and SPf.

It has a fairly extensive history for each GT40 chassis, (much more than Ronnie Spains book) and covers the history of SPF and each SPF chassis up until P2245? My car is P2264 so I'll have to wait until the next addition (10 years?).

There is much info that was new to me, including that SPF started to build their GT40's before their deal with Safir and that Safir actually came to them after several had been built (the first few did not have P#'s).

Although this book is fairly expensive, I have greatly enjoyed it and it will take many months to get through it. It will also be a great referance.

It is VERY well researched. Given the limited number of people who will buy it, I am surprised that they were able to print it as cheaply as they have. It's a lot of fun to read, but not exactly a cover-to-cover page turner....
