SLC at VIR 13 hour Oct 29th

Well done to all who took part - I must admit after going to bed I ended up following it to the end on my phone..... sad aren't I....

I can only imagine how infuriating the endless fuel stops must have felt for those concerned.

Still a great result.

Good job RCR. It was fun trying to follow on this side of the water just with a phone in a poor reception area!

Anyone care to post some pictures?

Great job! I had the opportunity to take a quick peek at the race car today. Let me tell you, by the looks of things it was a tough fight, and a well deserved podium finish! The rear clam has some damage, which appears as if they might have had a little off-track excursion in which a barrier may have been displaced.

Wow! I just read the blow-by-blow race reports! Good job, reporters! ESPN is looking for you . . . :)

And Fran and team, WOW! You guys did fantastic! You perservered, adapted, and overcame! Way to go!!!!!

Bassanio et Portia :)

Some images of the car back in the shop after the race...

I particularly like the new Louis Chevrolet Swiss Watch sponsorship, with their catchphrase of "Never give up". It seems so apropos of our team, and the extreme effort they made, never giving up despite facing fuel pickup problems, a broken oil cooler, penalties (deserved or otherwise), and a host of other issues.

That we finished our first enduro on the lead lap- and catching the leader- is a testament to not only the speed of the car, but to it's essential ruggedness.

And to the ideal of Never Giving Up.

I'm sure you've all seen this at some point, but seemed appropriate, and the frog color even matches the car!

Thats endurance racing...it was a wet start to the race too....Ryan had a couple of off track excursions which did not help keep it clean...
I think he had one small Miata incident but otherwise a bump free race.

We did clip the wall in qualifying after a bad tyre choice though, hence the reason we started last and had to drive through the pack to lead.

For a bone stock LS3 with a bolt on dry sump system , the car really did very well....surprising how fast a bone stock engined SL-C can go....4 secs under the previous ITE lap record

...AND limiting the engine to 5000 rpm (for 99% of the race).
