Hi Faili,
Just yanking your chain since you seem to love yanking everyone elses. Thanks for the racing advice, earplugs were worth a second a lap so I'll let you know how the Viagra goes. Who loves you baby!

This is not a flame war, this is how we do light hearted attacks over here. Flame war would be WMD /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I know, poor old George, he is consumed with WIMD (Where is My D$#%) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Malcolm, apart from the opening post on this subject, don't you think this thread has denigrated into stupidity by the comments of sad people - the service still (and will continue) runs and proves a huge benefit to the majority of enthusiasts. Frank

Are there any 'sense of humor upgrades' available on the spares database?

Or maybe there are some lightweight upgrades, it always helps to 'lighten up' a bit...

Faili,

Ok let's move on and try to ensure that humour differences on each side of the pond do not cause unnecessary rifts on the forum /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

FYI, I didn't get your mail until last night as I couldn't access my ISP. Forum mail is good in this respect as it doesn't require your ISP to work (which when it is provided by BT is a good thing!)

Regarding the spares database, as that is what this thread was about originally, personally I have found the service to be very effective and have sold lots of parts through this mechanism. Equally, I have sold many parts (including my steering wheel badges) effectively through this website.

As Paul mentioned earlier, the idea of a spares database on the web has been debated by the GTD40 club at length. The main issue with it is simply that it takes time to administer and there doesn't seem to be any club members that are willing to volunteer for that responsibility.

I am sure that if we got a volunteer that we could get one up and running quite quickly. Any takers?!

Couldn't agree more Frank, and since it is no longer the GTD Club Spares Database but the Frank Catt/Wealden Engineering Development Spares Database, it is in the wrong section of the forum.

Incidentally Frank, why don't you give everyone access to the listings anyway?
