Welcome aboard my friend. Your CAV GT tube car is an important part if the brands history.
I have closely inspected another CAV tube car and have to say in build quality it was as well done as any monocoque car I've seen.
There are many similarities and several interchangable parts with it's younger sibling so please feel free to call anytime with any tech questions or about new parts.
Cheers

Is that 2004 no.36? Is that #436? Any ideas? Thanks guys. |

Rep Power: 13 | Re: CAV Registry - Come Sign Up I would quess that it was built in 2001 and is chassis # 25. I would further quess that the rest of the numbers were tacked on for registration purposes. Contact Jean Fourie at Auto Futura and see if he can decipher for you. It could also be series 1, 25th car built in 04. again check with Jean! |

The 'Jean Fourie" method only starts from car @82 which is when I purchased the company.
The chassis number from there on is as follows:
2 second generation
1A inherited from previous company
124 #number in production
Mono Monocoque
B66 USA requirement
AF Auto Futura

Does that mean my car, 1A82MONOB66, was the first car that Auto Futura delivered?
Thanks,

At last a CAV GT at Le Mans all year around !
My name is Emmanuel BEAUFILS. I am born and live at Le Mans in 1969.
Our company : LE MANS SPORT CARS is now distributing CAV in France.
website : LMSC - Le Mans Sport Cars
We are located on the 24 hours of Le Mans circuit close to the arnage curve.
We ordered a CAV GTR Gulf 1969 Le Mans racing version with a 5L7 enginewhich delivers 470 HP with 4 weber carbs and 6 speed close ratio gearbox. It's number #141 and we should receive it right on time for Le Mans 2008 were it will be displayed in the village during the race week and showed during the driver parade on friday. After Le Mans, we will work on track to set up this car for track day use.
All the details about this car are here : LMSC - Le Mans Sport Cars - Le book
Thanks.
