Is Fox Next?

LONDON — News of the World, the Rupert Murdoch-controlled weekly tabloid that is at center of a widening scandal, will publish its final edition Sunday, Murdoch’s son James announced Thursday.
The 168-year-old newspaper, by far the most popular in Britain, and its parent company "failed to get to the bottom of repeated wrongdoing that occurred without conscience or legitimate purpose," James Murdoch said in a statement. “Wrongdoers turned a good newsroom bad and this was not fully understood or adequately pursued.”

It appears that a Rupert Murdoc news source is being closed down due to "repeated wrong doing that occurred without conscionce of legitimate purpose".

Although this sounds like they are doing the "right thing", we all know they care nothing about the "right thing", they are closing because their advertisers have left in large numbers

It appears that folks everywere are fed up with criminal activity and unethical activity and being told lies!

Fox News Continues Ratings Slump – Q2 2011

This is becoming redundant, but the latest ratings survey once again has Fox News slouching alone as the only cable news network to lose viewers year-over-year. The decline holds for both total viewers and for the 25-54 year old demographic, with the worst showing a double-digit decline in the demo for primetime.

Re: Is Fox Next?

It appears that not just lies were involved, but crimes as well.

[QUOTE]In 2006, the police focused their investigations on two men. Both went to jail. But the News of the World and News International failed to get to the bottom of repeated wrongdoing that occurred without conscience or legitimate purpose.

Wrongdoers turned a good newsroom bad and this was not fully understood or adequately pursued.

As a result, the News of the World and News International wrongly maintained that these issues were confined to one reporter. We now have voluntarily given evidence to the police that I believe will prove that this was untrue and those who acted wrongly will have to face the consequencesQUOTE]James Murdoc

Re: Is Fox Next?

TimB

Its not the ratings.......

The "News of the World" did not die because of low ratings. It was the most popular English language Newspaper *****IN THE WORLD*****

It died because the advertisers left in large numbers. To Murdoc, it's only the money that matters.

Murdoc & Co killed the 168 year old, most popular English language Newspaper because of their crimes and lies. Folks still want to read their crap, its just that Business no longer wants to be associated with them!

********

Folks have started to boycot business that advertise on Fox. The boycott is already producing outstanding results.

Recently, 11 advertisers cancelled their FOX ads: Campbell Soup, Chrysler, General Motors, Kellogg, Kraft Foods, Lawyers.com, Nestle, Pfizer, Proctor & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, and Walmart.

Those are some big names and big advertisers! TimB, as you say, wishing won't make it so..........but action just might

Re: Is Fox Next?

Murdoch is a sly old Fox (pun intended) he has closed News of the World for no other reason than he want's to distance himself from their wrongdoings and claim no knowledge.
He is right now looking at several large acquisitions in the U.K. and the powers that be who's approval Rupert depends on, require a C.E.O with no criminal record.
I know a couple of Journalists who have worked for the Murdoch empire
and they allege that Murdoch is very much a hands on person and suspect he would of had knowledge of what was going on.
Will this be the end of Fox? Nah!

Re: Is Fox Next?

Craig,

I'm sure that the folks who are boycotting Fox advertisers do not watch Fox News.

I think they are just hoping for a world that is Fair and Balanced

Re: Is Fox Next?

I would bet the folks who say they are boycotting the advertisers on Fox ...

Did not watch Fox to begin with ,
And did Not support the advertisers before the boycott .

But the dollar talks , only not so much about supply and demand anymore , but more about ideas and wishes of the people who control the money . And they wish to control all of it .

Re: Is Fox Next?

Frank,

If you go back and look at the eleven companies that pulled their adds, I bet there is not anyone in our country that did not use at least one of those products. I have used at least five in the last few months.

I think I'll go make some Kraft Macaroni and Cheese right now

Re: Is Fox Next?

Thanx for supporting Fox , err or not supporting , I guess it depends on when the items were purchased ?
I don't support Wally World when I buy beer , they don't carry my brand . I suppose that reflects badly on Fox .

Re: Is Fox Next?

Geico Insurance pulls their adds from Fox.

"We market our insurance to people regardless of their political affiliations," she said. "Yet we do not want to be associated with political hate speech." Not only Geico Pulled their ad's from Fox News program's, the following companies imediately pulled their ad's off Fox News as well. The ones without stars were within 24 hours of his statement.

When you have lost the Geko, you have lost America!

Re: Is Fox Next?

I'm going to be lazy and just ask if the sposors are leaving the papaer or FOX as a whole as there is a BIG difference. Them leaving a troubled paper is expected but leaving FOX as a whole (which I do not think is the case or that has been reported) is a different story.

Re: Is Fox Next?

Damian,

As I understand, the News of the World paper in England is closing down for several reasons, but I know most of its sponsers left amid this most recent scandel.

The long lists of companies above are advertisers that have recently left Fox due to its less than accurate, sometimes missleading and sometimes completely wrong coverage of the politics. I do not know if its only Fox News or all of Fox programing.

Re: Is Fox Next?

Jim I am just going to leave this here Fox News Boycott | Fox Sponsors A – L . 1st I want you all to notice the source and second how it contradicts what all of the socialist sorry democrats have posted as to who was leaving FOX (guys you can recant at any time and I promise to only tease you a little). Check my CURRENT sponsor list to the ones posted and tell me who is spinning things. I will say that many sponsors left FOX (more to the point they stopped adverts. during certain shows) once they canceled Glen Beck but oh wait the show was canceled so the ad. $ was going to go elsewhere anyway but hey reality so much more colorful when you view it through a kaleidescope lens.

Re: Is Fox Next?

Gee Damian,

I checked your "current" sponsor list...............

It is not dated, but the first comment in the discussion at the bottom is dated 10/04/2010.

Is it possible that you do not have the most recent list!

******
So Damian, you use a list of Fox sponsers from LAST YEAR, call it "MY CURRENT SPONSOR LIST" ?

You use out of date, missleading information to make your point! You would fit right in a Fox!

Can you explain why you would call a list from last year "MY CURRENT SPONSOR LIST"

Could it be you are trying to misslead the good folks here?

Re: Is Fox Next?

You didn't read the opening statement that stated that it will be updated accordingly and the last posts were from this year (JUNE 26, 2011) so how is that dated? It's a bash Fox web site you don't think that given the format that they would update as sponsors status changes; come on now. This took all of two minutes of searching to debunk this CRAP guys. I expected better than this from all of you pinko card carrying socialists . I kid I kid but I did expect better.

Re: Is Fox Next?

Damian,

You use a list from last year, call it "MY CURRENT SPONSOR LIST", then you say you assume it has been updated, and then you call me names!!!!!!

You and Fox, use old, missleading data to prove your points and then blame others.

Classy, real classy!

Are you saying that these sponsors have not pulled their adds from Fox News?
