Doubtless they will get respect for this manoevre but it is ultimately the Afghan people who must choose, as they have done for centuries...The USA must also seriously and quickly re-evalute their positions. The other countries involved in the NATO force are only there because the Americans are.

The waste (and ruination) of life is mind numbing in this hopeless country...

I can't imagine they think they are in any position to insist on concessions.

Why not, they are winning, only because our stupid ROE are letting them, but they are winning none the less. As they did against the Russians. we should piss off out of there and leave them to it.
