Bush's Resignation Speech

Conspiracies are like a**holes - everyone has one. I just hate it when I am expected to buy into it or be labelled stupid. (Or uneducated, or whatever)

(just made that up - can you tell?)

There are conspiracy theories and there are conspiracy facts.

I'm sorry if I label but I see the Television mindset so much it's just reflex.

The TV is owned by 6 large corporations. (20 years ago it was 50) It presents a monolithic one-sided corporate viewpoint. Consolidation means power. If you are a corporate head all you have to do is convince these 6 other corporate heads that your agenda is the way to go.

The internet presents far more facts from all sides, of course you have to filter, but it's at least possible to be more informed. It is impossible with the TV, they want you ignorant, it serves their agenda.

This was a created crisis, and the left thrives on crisis.

I think it's corporate. A corporate that has created a left right fight in a divide and conquer strategy. The real war is not left and right, it's between kings and serfs.

I actually believe that the left is trying to destroy this country through the banking system.
"The left" didn't privatize the FED in the early 20th century, that was the wealthy elite, the countries finances have been downhill ever since.

I would never defend the auto manufacturers, but there is no "Free Market" with all of the regulations such as "CAFE" and others that limit production, and cause higher manufacturing costs that are ultimately passed on to consumers.
They have to drag the US down to assimilate it into the NAU. The average tariff to import our cars to other countries is 20%. For them to import here it's zero, in fact they get subsidies. I don't care how tech you are, you can't compete on a tilted playing field. They want them to fail.

Also check out "Zeitgeist"
It has a sequel now.

Bush ran as a Republican, but he is really a liberal using Christian values to mask his liberalism, and it shows in his policies.
And Clinton ran as liberal but was more conservative than bush. Left right is false, a distraction from the person behind the curtain.

"If you don't read the newspaper you are uninformed, If you read the newspaper you are mis-informed" Mark Twain
How about George Carlin? (although he was a bit cynical in later life)

The real owners are the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians, they're an irrelevancy. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They've long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the statehouses, the city halls. They've got the judges in their back pockets. And they own all the big media companies, so that they control just about all of the news and information you hear. They've got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying – lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want; they want more for themselves and less for everybody else.

And I'll tell you what they don't want. They don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They're not interested in that. That doesn't help them. That's against their interests. They don't want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they're getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. You know what they want? Obedient workers – people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork but just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it. And, now, they're coming for your Social Security. They want your fucking retirement money. They want it back, so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street. And you know something? They'll get it. They'll get it all, sooner or later, because they own this fucking place. It's a big club, and you ain't in it. You and I are not in the big club.

Kalun:
I think we are on the same page. I use the term "Left" as they seem to have all of the social agendas like redistribution of wealth and universal health care etc.
It has been obvious to many for quite a while that there are a few in control, and we just supply the labor and funds to make it happen.
Check out "The Bilderberg Group", you seem well informed and probably are aware of this already. Meanwhile they will try to keep us one cold plate of beans away from a revolution.
Cheers
Phil

Kalun,
Clinton cut defence budgit for fed and military to ballance the budgit. Look at what it cost in the long run. Allowed 9/11 to happen and required us to pay more now to fix it.
And as far as Social Security: It was never supposed to be taxed or earmarked for other things, but the democrats changed that correct!?

Kalun,

Short answer on where the record revenues went - the government spent it. The war, prescription drugs, federal entitlements, interest on the national debt sucked it dry.
Just wait, congress is now on the spending spree of all time that will burden our grandchildren and probably their children and make last year look like a walk in the park. While conspiracy theories are fun, my answer to them is for you to go downtown and meet your local bank president and then make an appointment and meet your elected congressional representatives. Ask them the questions you've asked here. If you think they are smart enough to trigger worldwide conspiracies, I have some wonderful property her in Florida I'd love to sell you. It's a little swampy but just grand otherwise. When you come to Florida, also meet our senator. After two minutes, he will remove any shadow of a doubt as to their capacity to do little more than tax and spend. In fact, you'll wonder (as I do) how he dresses himself in the morning. Then spend some quality time with Sen. Byrd in West Virginia. Try to catch him in the morning, he tends to nod off in the early afternoon.

The sad truth is these guys just aren't that good and the complexities of the world have overwhelmed them. That's why we're in the fix we're in.

After that, go visit Internal Revenue Service and look at the tax tables. Don't forget to include AMT, the Democrat's answer to people that have deductions. As far as Leona Helmsley, she may not have paid taxes and I understand that our government took a dim view of the events and she went to prison for it. But then she also left $12MM to her Maltese when she passed on and the courts subsequently redistributed it for her. Quite a charmer as word has it. She was no doubt part of the vast right wing corporate, banking, governmental conspiracy in order to amass her fortune.

As for the member from the UK that has a business and pays no taxes, more power to you.
Let's just say I have never been that fortunate as the taxman gets a sizable chunk from me at the pump, on my property, and on my meager wages. I fear he's going to get a lot more and at the end we won't have much to show for it.

Hi,

Just to clarify I didn't say I paid no taxes I said that when I had my business (I am now in paid employment) I paid less taxes than I do now.

"As for the member from the UK that has a business and pays no taxes, more power to you." Not really as if I didn't pay others will have to pay more. We have a social fund in this country that gives interest free loans to those in dire need, the government have just had to backtrack on alledged plans to tax these loans at around 27% APR.

So Pete, which horse do you like in the fourth race at Saratoga? And I'll need next week's lottery numbers, too.

A.J. As I said, it was pure dumb luck, and if you knew my record as a punter you wouldn't ask for any of my tips:laugh:

And I used the money to buy property the value of which looks like it will go down. Certainly if I tried to sell in today's climate I would lose $$$

Pete, that doesn't sound like such a bad deal given the possibilty of a turn around in a few years(they go by much more quickly lately).I believe it was Brian on this forum who said "and the last time I looked, they weren't making any more property".In the meantime keep watching that beach to make sure it stays put (reference the White Christmas thread).

Kalun, you're putting us on... right???

After "subsidies" and offshore havens there's many US corps that pay ZERO taxes.

Nonsense! Name one public company that doesn't pay taxes. I'd like to see their balance sheet. For those that feel they should pay more taxes, the government does allow donations. Personally, I prefer select charities (other than my GT40) with low administrative costs that are directed toward things I believe in (education, veterans causes and cancer research). I just don't think government as wealth redistribution
function is very effective.

It's because of the monopoly globalization agenda.

Where do you get this stuff?? Gee, did the internship at Pravda not work out??

What party held all 3 branches of power in 2002-2003? Why did they "back off"?

Things were pretty good in 2002-2003, especially for those of us in the exclusive corporate cabal.

ROTFLMAO!!!! If we had put SS into stocks it only would have lost 40% in the last year.

Yep, last year it would have. It will again next year. However pick any ten-year period (including the depression) and you will see over time the market always outperforms cash and the federal bond rate. Stuff your money in your mattress if you want to but you'll be poorer as a result. Your positions certainly are selective on facts and rich in intellectual leaps.

They've been saying it will be out of money ever since it's inception (social security), repeat the lie often enough, some people will believe.

Kalun, that is also nonsense. Look at your annual Social Security statement, (this year's has a warning about it), look at the federal budget. Look at the facts instead of ignorant blathering from left wing blogs.

You don't really expect a criminal cabal, led by the bush crime family, that would be implicated if regulations were pursued, to actually enforce them do you?

I actually didn't think they were good enough to run a crime syndicate to include congress, the media, and the regulators. My suggestion would be to switch to decaf before you go on line again.

If you give a baby candy, and he eats too much and gets sick, who's fault is it?

Easy, sue the candy manufactures, require warning labels on the candy and blame Bush and criminal candy corporate greed. Just don't mess with Hershey; they have a great car event and museum.

all that "let the free market work" big lie went by the wayside. Tarp is just another transfer of wealth mechanism.

You're right, it's really a tax on financial institutions and a method to encourage them to buy smaller troubled ones so the government doesn't have to mess with them a-la Indy MAC.

Sorry, I haven't taken out a loan in over a decade, but I'm not going to whine about taxes.

Good for you! As stated earlier, you can always pay more and ignore the inherent government inefficiency and waste. Go visit a public school and admire your tax dollars at work. Read the earmarks from your local legislator and be proud.

You are kidding right????

I banned myself from these discussions last year becuse I just couldn't fight the nonsense anymore. I have never seen a political opinion changed by anyone here on the forum. I used to believe that if you were a car guy, I could hang out with you and enjoy myself. After reading this stuff, that isn't the case. I just wanted to say that Veek, you give me hope. Thanks for your commonsense approach.

By the way, I like the speech. BUT It isn't real, it never happened. Some of you hate Bush some much that you just need the smallest reason to fly off on another rant. My wish for you next year is that you find a way to deal with all that rage and enjoy life.

Merry Christmas!

No it isn't real, it clearly states it was written by someone from Maine and is satire, the speech Bush might have written.
I suspect Chris posted it because he knew it would get the response it has. I enjoy these type of post's and the way some are passionate about their beliefs.
Dlampe I think it is sad that you feel you cannot hang out with car guys and enjoy yourself just because their political opinions differ from yours, or they rant on with misinformation from time to time, or don't measure up to your intellectual standards.
It is your choice to read these type of post's or not.
There are plenty of sections of this forum where you can hang out with car guys and not get involved with politics, religion or bad jokes.
Merry Christmas, or if that offends Happy Holidays.

Obviously not a Bush speech. It has one or two nominally cogent thoughts (not correct, just cogent) and some reasonably complete sentences. He can't do that, as he is a moron. As is the supposed Maineiac that wrote this.

As a Maineiac myself, I doubt that it was written here though. Most of us figured out what an idiot Bush was early on. That's why he never carried this state.

Probably someone from Georgia.

Forget about BOY GEORGE,,,,he is Moron.

The ones who voted for him, second time around are the ones we need to find and send back to “re-education camp”. Of course no one on this forum says, I VOTED FOR HIM,,,,Come on you coward wise old men, FESS UP.:)

I voted for Hussien, he may also end up being a total Moron, we will find out in the near future.

Sheik will be back in 4 years and WILL NOT be a coward, if Hussien turns up to be another stupid American president. He will call him all kinds of name (Maybe good maybe bad). But he will always start the thread by saying,,,,, “I am one of the morons that VOTED for that guy”.

Now, how many of you here voted for BOY GEORGE?!!! Fess up you “cowards”:):)

Ha I did, that moron was better than the two morons who ran against him, the sore loser and the guy with the rich bitchy wife. :p:

Pete,

Don’t want to sound patronising but I really agree wholeheartedly with your post. I’m probably never going to agree with a lot of what you post on here but as you imply it’s good to hear the other point of view.

I always remember a lecturer’s comments to me many years ago at college. He was very conservative, (republican) and I am very liberal (democrat). After I had delivered what I considered a brilliant repost to his views on why Mrs Thatcher was a fantastic prime minister, he looked at me and said, “Mr Brough I respect your views, but you are wrong”.

So although it’s me that’s always right, you never know with a persuasive argument, maybe you could turn me to the dark side, but don’t hold your breath.

Merry Christmas and may your God go with you

Well obviously I did not vote for him because I am not a citizen of your country.
But if I were I would have. I am just a little more right wing than Attila the Hun, and would vote for a right wing buffoon before I would vote for a left wing socialist.
Unfortunately these days most politicians no matter which party they support think only of power and getting re-elected and therefore pander to the masses and spend their lives pork barreling, rather than doing what is right for the country.

Brother Pete,
I have no problem with ANYBODY voting for that Moron. Lot of people voted for Adolf and Ayatollah Khomeini as well (Ohhhh the fear of the Commeees).
All I am asking our “Nobel”, “Young” and “Wise” Forum members is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
STATE at the beginning of political threads, Whom you voted for,,,,,,
It will help everyone to know which side of your head has had a burned gasket causing dementia,,,,,

how's your TV indoctrination? Clueless about corps that don't pay taxes? Faux News never tell you about that?

from 50 to only 5 corps in the last 20 years to control all the news

how many oil corps to only 5 now control most of the oil

you ignore corporate consolidation at your peril, it's fascism by any other name, monopoly is opposite free market and democracy
