I've just been sent this. I think I agree with it.

Dave - I think I like this wish list!!!
HERE IS ALL I WANT OUT OF LIFE AT THIS TIME...

Borders:Closed to further immigration.
Illegals:Found stopped and sent back.
National Commitment: Re-establish National Service!!!
Parliament:Obey it's own laws. Make politicians keep their promises or have them disqualified from further election. No programs scheduled to start past the next election.

Dual Citizenship: Abolished (you're either British or something else. If you're something else, be a visitor then leave when your visa runs out.)
Language: English, Welsh, Scottish only.
Flags: Illegal to display another flag except for consulates and embassies.

Culture: Respect the British culture and stop trying to change it into the mess left back in their own countries. Stop trying to change us!

Drug Free: Mandatory Drug Screening before Welfare Benefits!

NO Freebies to: Non-Citizens! Look after British BEFORE donating to other countries. No British welfare for any country that is developing nukes or spending more than a reasonable amount on arms.

BRITISH SOLDIERS HOME -

LET THE MIDDLE EAST SORT ITS OWN PROBLEMS OUT!

BRITISH PENSIONERS BEFORE ALL OTHER NATIONS.

No doubt some of our GT40 North American members will find fault with this but you know what? I don't really care. I cant read their silly comments anyway.

I'd like to ad that a certain segment of the population needs to be disarmed.

Well David, as a Yank I totally agree with your "dream list". I would like the same here as well.

+1! ...except for the Welsh and Scottish (or chose your favorite) "multi-language" thing. That would likely have to be done in the UK because of your history. But, here in the U.S. it would have to be ENGLISH ONLY. Bilingualism would be a major league FAIL in the U.S. from the get-go for a whole host of reasons. (E.g.: can you imagine having to print multiple languages on the labels of everything sold as well as on every govt document as Canada does? How about street signage? [It's bad enough in Canada where they only mandate TWO!])

IMHO anyone who moves to another country had better be willing to learn its language if it's different from his own - or stay home.

Sue me...!

I agree with most of the post specifically bringing back national service and closing the borders. Drug test before welfare? Does that include alcohol a legal drug ? I think it should btw.
The problem is of course there's so many now on welfare of some kind that any politician that tried to limit it or do away with it would not get elected.
The socialists appear to have won but will inevitably send their respective countries broke. They must not think too much about their children or grand children. Sad what?

Exactly. Well said.

'Read a piece Stansberry & Assoc emailed to me a couple days ago (which they wrote last June entitled, "It can always get worse"), wherein they forecast - again - exactly that. They used Detroit as THEE model proving their prognostication.

One small "e.g.": They point out how the 70,000 people currently employed at G.M. are 'supporting' 700,000 retirees! Oh, yeah, that math works just fine, thank you. What could possibly go wrong? They go on to outline how the present admin in D.C. made darned sure the suffocating level of union wages/pension obligations, etc., weren't scrapped during GM's "bankruptcy" as one would normally expect to be the case under bankruptcy law (oooooh, no, 'couldn't do that! ) and how that's basically the way the U.S. govt has been operating for years. Proof? Look at the $17 trillion in U.S. debt. I'd post the whole article, but, it's copyrwrited.

I'm scared to death for the future of my kids and grandkids. Especially given the fact that there are now more 'gimmy-gimmies' than 'producers' voting in this country. I seriously doubt the ship of state has enough time to change course before it hits the economic reef its presently heading for at flank speed.

Don't joke about this stuff Larry ;) Recently we had some major road-works going on in my town with diversions everywhere. The Highway's Agency thought it a perfectly reasonable idea to put up road signs in POLISH as well as English! "Seriously" I hear you ask. YES SERIOUSLY! How much did that f***ing waste of time cost? Locals tore down the signs and threw them in the hedges.

:furious:

Government assistance expands

chart-american-households-federal-assistance.top.gif
More than a third of Americans lived in households receiving government assistance in 2010.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- More than one in three Americans lived in households that received Medicaid, food stamps or other means-based government assistance in mid-2010, according to a new report

Larry, the number is less than half.

Well Larry,

I have know idea how you could tell who votes and who does not. But CNN Money says that "more than one in three" Americans live in households that receive some form of Government assistance.

One in three is already less than half, plus many of those residents are under 18, are a felon or just do not vote.

Using these statistics it appears that your statement that more than half the voters receive Government assistance does not hold up.

Per the Washington Post:

Three-quarters of entitlement benefits written into law in the United States go toward the elderly or disabled. That’s according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. And a big chunk of the rest goes to working households. Only about 9 percent of all entitlement benefits go toward non-elderly, non-disabled households without jobs (and much of that involves health care and unemployment insurance):

So Larry, do you lump the Elderly and Disabled into the Gimmy Gimmy group?

Now Larry, if only 9% of Government assistance goes to folks without jobs and much of that is unemployment insurance which is not a gimmy gimmy handout "THEY PAID INTO UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE". Your accusation appears to be less than truthful!
