ZF \'box for sale

Speaking to a guy the other day with a Pantera. It's in bits for a rebuild but he's a bit disheartened and may break it. What sort of money could he get for the ZF 'box? (bodywork rebuild...'box is fine)

This box needs to be modified to go in a GT40; they are 'upside down' in Panteras, I think you have to flip the ring and pinion and change the oiling system.

Yes the Pantera ZF is upside down compared to GT40, ring gear and pinion have to be flipped ( unless you want 5 close ratio reverse gears ) and holes have to be drilled between diff and gear sections for oil to drain through.Special tools are necessary to remove output shaft bearings unless you have a month to spare. There is a lot of ZF info on the Pantera Forum and manual available from Pantera shop.

Hi England,

You should consider the frame/chassi of the Pantera. It would need to be shortened about 5" (not a big deal) but it would work well for building a GT40 onto it. That is what I'm doing.
