1. Quiz! can anyone confirm the kit make/model? Note I have yet to see other kit with hood without "nostrels" in middle and "t-top" doors have part of roof tomake entry/exit easier.

2. e-mail me ([email protected]) if you are seriously interested.

Thanks for this awesome forum and any opinions/comments you have. I think this is a great deal (engine/transaxle/rims alone may be worth $400+). I want someone serious about getting it on the road /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

MORE INFORMATION
This is a Ford GT 40 replica car on ’68-‘69 Volkswagen beetle pan. I was told this is a FiberFab GT Avenger a long time ago (in which case it is GT-12). Actually it is a high-school project I never got around to. Now you can take my project at a great deal and have your own custom one-of-a-kind car. This will turn heads even as-is, and give people whiplash when repainted and finished out.

FEATURES:
· $500 for the car (or auction price), AS IS. This is a great deal for a unique kit car that looks totally awesome even in the rough.

· 3 body pieces, doors, front + rear windshields

· ’69 VW frame, 1300 (1600?) decent engine (+ aftermarket oil cooler, carburetor, and exhaust), stock transaxle, custom gas tank. Extension for nose (mounted) tilts forward, back tilts backward (needs some mounting bracket work). Note front end is from ’68 VW if I recall (may need break system work to march ’69 break drums)

· T-top doors (part of roof is built into the door making it easier to get in and out). I have mounting plates (not sure about hinges), but not mounted and no side windows or rear view mirrors.

· Either fiberglass shell seats or older blue Toyota Celica seats (fairly low profile needed to fit). Note I have seats stored separately so it may take some digging to find them (or $50 off if I just can’t find them)

· No electrical system. No wires, no lights (besides headlight bulbs), no dash, no battery

· Engine ran great last time I checked (about 5 years ago)

· ’68 or ’69 Volkswagen beetle pan, modified for nose and middle body panel. Rear panel frame attachments still need to be mounted

· NOTE: VW pan has no VIN, no title exists for body. Body number is 118889177.

· Front hood opens forward and rear deck opens back, causing folks to gawk even when you fill up gas tank or work on it.

· Mag wheels with standard VW 4-bolt pattern. (I am not sure of composition or style but should be restorable to great looking shape.)

· Extremely low profile. Sits low to the ground (even though the Volkswagen pan has not been lowered). Stands about 42” tall if I remember correctly. This is one sleek machine!

Buyer must take vehicle by August 27th 2003 for $100 discount. Sorry, no shipping or delivery (but there are companies that can do this if needed). I am seriously considering posting to eBay soon.

Sincerely,
Zephan Schroeder

History
-------
1987 - I bought this car in from a neighbor who had it in his side yard for at least 4 years.

1987 - I bought a ’69 VW Beetle with nice engine and sold the body. I also welded 4” plate steel along both sides required to mount mid-section and welded plate steel panel behind passenger seat area. I even drove around the yard with battery, jumper cables, and gas can J. Total blast!

~1998 fired up engine to see if it still worked. Sounded just fine. Engine has been turned periodically to keep internal parts oiled.

2003 - I realized I will never get around to completing this project. Let someone else get joy from it. Need to remove by end of August if possible.
