Thumbs up Eye candy CAV GTs.

Just thought I would post a few shots of my departing white CAV and my new LeMans Blue.
Can't wait to get to the track with the new slicks!

Roy, beautiful car. What size wheels and tires are on you car. They look like 17" dia wheels.

Thanks,

Re: Eye candy CAV GTs.

Roy,

You being the CAV dealer and all, I guess I will be the first to ask what something like your Blue car will cost out the door as it appears in the first picture with the radials on it? Not a roller, but with the engine/trans as it is shown in your pictures?

Thanks,
Hi Jim, my road tires are Michilan Pilot Sports 335/35/ZR17. 265/40/ZR17. The slicks are Avon 13-25-15. 10.5/23/15. Which are 1" shorter. That sits the car down an extra 1/2" at the track and automatically de-gears the car to make it a little quicker on acceleration. Cheers Roy.

Hi Gary.
As you know we sell the Roller for $69,900 including a/c and leather, I actually have in stock the sister car to my Le Mans Blue/white strips that is fully loaded with all the extras: wide rear, 17” BRMs. 335ZRs, suede interior, strips, Gurney Bubble, etc. It should be $76,000. I will sell it for $69,900. But, to answer your question depending on the engine-trans speck. probably from $85 to $100 is normal . Of course, you could spend a lot more but it’s not necessary. An engine can be $4K or $30K a trans can be $2500 for a gatrag or $8600 for a ZF.RBT. My car has the RBT and a 351/427 with injectors so its around $100k but gives me a call at 619-708-3180. I can price one out to your exact specification to suit your pocket. I do have a couple of deals right now, one yellow spider wide hip with leather, snortals, for $49,900. You could finish that one for about $65,000 if you are frugal. We have also started selling them in kits form for $38K. I can also take interesting trades there is more than way to get your dream car. Cheers Roy.

Re: Eye candy CAV GTs.

Roy,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

I fully understand when it comes to adding the cost of a specific engine and transmission, and the other bells and whistles everyone dreams of having over and above the cost of the roller, entry level is one thing, but we all know......fast isn't fast enough until you can say you've spent serious money and go beyond the entry level price. Hey, these cars were intended to go 200 MPH, right?

The way you equipped your Blue car, and hearing the cost being around $100K, that seems reasonable. It will surely get me thinking about it.

Thanks Roy,

Gary Kadrmas

Re: Eye candy CAV GTs.

Hi Gary,

I see you're in the PNW too. If you're coming to Seattle sometime then feel free to give me a call (send me a PM) - happy to show you my CAV. My car has a lowly 302 with an audi transaxle but she really skoots big time! You may be surprised. I doubt there's more than $7K in the engine and transaxle. Seems like plenty of power to me really.

Best,

Cliff

Re: Eye candy CAV GTs.

Cliff,

Thanks for the invite.

When the weather breaks and a person can count on more than 20 minutes of sun in a day, a trip to Seattle would be a great short trip.
