| UK 908 /910 / 917 bodies Can anyone tell me if anyone in the UK can supply either 908 / 910 / 917 bodies?
I have spoken to Chris Melia, but is there anyone else? (not that Chris's 908 doesn't look like it's going to be a cracker!)
Just sounding things out at the moment, as I'm looking into a future project- plan is to cut down and shorten a 914 to use it as the basis for a sports racing car which should retain some of the 'practicalities' of the production based vehicle......
I can then upgrade the running gear to 914/6 in the future when funds allow
It will need a fairly complex spaceframe ontop of the cut down platform, but overlaying the drawings of each on the lightbox, it looks fairly viable.
I'm keen on a 910, but I think it'd be 'easier' to source a 917 body, as there are more reps available.
I'm only interested if undertaking the project if the end result actually looks like the real thing - I'm not looking to build a Lazer!
Any idea of costs for body / glass packages available? |

| Re: UK 908 /910 / 917 bodies The 908 would be my choice as I think is it the prettiest of the bunch.
Any 911 engine/gearbox would be sufficient. Although I have not seen any
908 bodies for sale, I would not hesitate to build a mild steel space frame for it.
Approved safety glass might be another problem for a street car.

| Re: UK 908 /910 / 917 bodies Thanks Chris.
By the way, nice racing photos of Brad Hook's 908. He used to own a 906 but sold it to buy the 908. He told me... the 908 feels similar to the 906 on the track, the only difference is everything happens a lot faster in the 908.

How much for a complete 908 body?
Do you also sell chassis and other parts?
Regards,
Bram |

| Re: UK 908 /910 / 917 bodies Hi Gregg
It would be possible to make the 908/2 spider version without to much trouble. My fibreglass guy needs work and he can make this happen if your up for it.
cost wise it would be $8000. plus shipping.

| Re: UK 908 /910 / 917 bodies Chris, it's not fair !!!!
I'm putting cent by cent on my bank account to be able to buy a 917 replica as soon as possible....
and today, you are showing me that i MUST have also a 906, a 908 and a 910.....
I know that i will have a roomy garage, but my wife will kill me....
but it would be very cool to have side by side those famous porsche racers...
very nice job !!!
what ?? i'm just "a little bit" porsche addicted.... |
