Veek +1 mate.
HH is a piece of work you are correct. Now you know why we're in this predicament - too many years of PC and no blame = no responsibility. If someone broke the law it was because they were deprived. That's Bliars mob for you. The damage done is incalcuable.
This kind of politicing is shameful and I don't think the British public at large is falling for it one bit. 99% of all comments (and there have been many) in the newspapers and internet have put the blame down to 'mindless thuggery'. I was thinking today actually, that the only "food" outlet raided tended to be McDonalds, and they can go ahead and wreck as many of them as they like.
Good observation Veek. One guy was seen trying on various different trainers in a wrecked store - trying to find a pair that fitted.
Cameron has come in for a bit of stick since he has been PM but I'll tell you this; at this moment, UK householders can now defend their properties using reasonable force, in fact one guy stabbed a burglar to death recently and was released without charge. Cameron has said this is right & proper, whereas two years ago, a householder was jailed for punching a burglar and about 10 years ago, a man who shot and killed a 16 year old burglar (with a licensed shotgun) from a family that was constantly constantly terrorising and vandalising his property was jailed for life, even though it was dark and he couldn't have possibly known who it was, only that they shouldn't have been in his house at 2am.
I am glad to say he has been released well ahead of his tariff, and this demonstrates that people ARE waking up to the fact that we've generally had enough of 'NANNY'. It clearly doesn't work.
The irony of course is, that these guys, for a few minutes of random destruction and looting, have kind of shot themselves in the foot for the future. But there again, if they had have thought it through they would have realised the consequences.
Democracy is a system that relies on the consent of the people. Ultimate democracy implies that all citizens take part in the political process and as a result we can enjoy the fruits of our labours in peace and harmony. This is what happens when a stupid minority opt out and thus, we lose a little more freedom and move slightly further away from democracy.
It is interesting that an 11 year old boy in court today said "he was protesting against the cuts" by smashing down the door of a shop, presumably to get inside and "redistribute goods to the needy" . Don't make me laugh.
No-one in the UK needs to go hungry. We have such a benign social care program that thousands of stateless foreigners are enjoying our hospitality to the full. These "cuts" that are often referred to are in fact cutting the billions of pounds wasted on quangos, committees, civil service departments, sinecures, useless middle management and generally overspending on just about everything. The fact that the UK has retained (just) it's AAA credit rating is because the Govt is implementing a tough waste cutting regime. It isn't the most popular way to get re-elected but someone has to do it.
If the citizens of the UK (who are in part to blame for all their irresponsible and sometimes fraudulent borrowing) think that we could continue to survive the way we were, then they're more stupid than I thought and these "riot" morons have probably done more damage to the general economic "health" of the UK than their tiny minds could ever contemplate..
Finally, the British people pull together in a crisis and this is what is happening now.
Someone has miscalculated very very badly...
