Body measuring needed, please..

Hi, iàm just finalising my 3 d Design of my own chassis, before bringing it to reallife.

And I have an littel question. Can anybody who has an Tornado, Southern GT, or GOX body give me the Width of the Roofsection, marked with "A" in the pics below ? - It`s not only the sum of 2 sidsills+floorpan, as its wider and goning over the sidesills (Maybe on an stock chassis it will be, but iám working on an Mono. lookalike chassis)

Please see also the pictures marked with the redlines.

Please help me, thanks so much :)

Chris

On my RCR body, which is a copy of P/1008, it's 66 inches. I know that's not what you're looking for but I thought I'd chime in anyway.

My mono is a CCD done to original dimensions. As you can hopefully see in the below photos the part of the mono you indicate slopes out very slightly from bottom to top. Distance A is 1670mm; distance B is 1682mm. Hope that helps.

I think the point that needs to be remembered here, is that the fiberglass side sill cover goes over the top of this section of the chassis. if your going to use a fiberglass roof, then you may want the chassis to be a little bit narrower so you can adjust the body fit on the chassis. ie move the a and b pillars in and out on each side and not have them hit the chassis.

the original GT40 was hand shaped, and then molds made from that. most of the replica bodies date back to a mold being pulled off another car at some point in time, so all of them carry the same hand shaped idiosyncrasies with them I.e. its unlikely that the body will be square and will need to be adjusted to get a shape your happy with. for this reason i would make the side sills have some free play in them for set up.

The parts in the diagram above are metal on the original monos Ryan. The fibreglass side sills finish below the line indicated by "A". However, I take your point regarding fibreglass spiders/roof sections.
