Did this really happen?

[QUOTE=molleur;

When ROE cripple a nations soldiers who, because of "political correctness" may face criminal charges for performing thier job, there is something seriously wrong! Been there, done that! The current government in Kabul is a prime example of not giving two shits about conflict resolution. Follow the money!

If we continue to make all nicey, nicey, these wars will drag out forever, as they have done with much higher military and civilian losses. If something drastic had been done at the get-go, this would have been over and done with. The thought of revenge is BS. If someone gets a severe ass beating they are very thoughtful about getting another one. This works in regular life and between countries as well. Teddy Roosevelt had it right "Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft." and "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."

Doesnt that assume that you can find the guilty parties?

If they are hiding in Pakistan, does that mean you are gonna Nuke Pakistan? As Pakistan and India both have Nuke capabilities, thats gonna make an interesting scenario.......
The US Nukes a country that it is not at war with! That will make interesting reading!!
Apparently (according to the Beeb) Support for the Taliban is increasing in Afganistan because of the colateral damage. Wonder what nuking the place would do?

Well, as the turd worms!
Pakistan is collaborating with the Taliban because they are worried about India gaining influence in the area should our forces leave Afghanistan. Their government has been giving our forces piecemeal tidbits, in exchange for billions of dollars, some of which goes to train the Taliban. Pakistan really does not wish to be surrounded by Indian influence. Pretty evident that all of the guilty parties won't be readily found.
Especially when the former head of the ISI is running the Pakistan army.

No good solution but to get the hell out now IMO! Don't get me totally wrong, I do not proport the use of tactical nukes, just a last option. All parties should be made strongly aware that we WOULD use them if all else fails. Stand strong or go home! No "winners" in any war mate!

I find it strange that people blame the occupying forces for the civilian casualties, when according to this report 70% are caused by the Taliban.

AP) – The number of Afghan civilians who died in war-related violence last year soared to the highest annual level since the conflict began in 2001, with nearly 70% blamed on insurgents, according the the UN, and 25% to allied forces. The UN mission in Afghanistan said 2,412 civilians were killed in 2000—a 14% increase over 2008. The deaths caused by allied forces show a 28% drop over the previous year.

If we are looking for someone to blame for 9/11. 17 of the 19 9/11 terrorist were Saudis. There are money trails that lead to the Saudis. That would be a good place to start.

Al, +1 on the Saudis. Wahabbism (sic) is what started the radical Islam movement and it was started and supported in Saudi Arabia for over 25 years.
