Well what I cant figure is how Auckland got number 3, I grew up there and its the biggest rat hole in the country, with the highest Aisian and pacific Islander population in the country, with numorous suburbs totally controlled by minonority ethnic groups.
when I left a couple of years ago from Sth Auck it had the highest crime rate in the country, and the highest housing costs, go figure.

So much goodwill going down over here.
Tomorrow night is the last Pilots night prior to Christmas at
one of my local pubs. Last year it turned into a power drinking
session resulting in loads of cars being left over night and then reclaimed
the next lunchtime - which then resulted in another bender.
Before the season kicks off, and I subsequently forget, I wish each and every
one of you a peaceful and joyful Christmas.
I mean that. Even you crak, in spite of your apparent madness. Happy Christmas.

David I think your thread has been hijacked....I got lost rereading the thing. All I wanted to say is, I like living in my little (maybe 72,000 in the proper and 175,000 people in the surrounding isn't little) town. And California is different in many ways from the rest of the country. That is all....Oh its a beautiful day for the TR6 to be out.

Anyway, I think there are so many really lovely places just about anywhere you want to think about. I actually like Santa Monica (provided I can live in one of the nicest hotels on earth - The Miramar) , and an old friend has a small horse ranch in Santa Barbara (he's a really good blues singer and I often went to see him in the 60's when he lived here). My father was based at Vandeberg in the late fifties. What the hell, I think people might have taken offence about something that AOL wrote and started shooting a load of s-h one t without thinking about it.
I often like threads that get hijacked - it adds a bit of spice.

I do know of what I speak, I too consider myself a Pacific Islander. I was born in Honolulu and we lived on Wake Island, Canton Island, Guam and Midway Island for six years!
The poll Mr Morton posted may well be true, it was his use of the poll that I did, and still do, have a problem with!
