'Too many horror stories about running vintage magnesium wheels - especially on the street. I've been told (by multiple people) they have a tendency to corrode internally before it can be seen externally...over time they become brittle...they get fatigue cracks (some can only be seen by x-ray)....'have a tendency to 'store stress' (on molecular level) ...'can have 'major league' structural failures...and they can catch fire. IOW, they can really ruin your day. (I'm told these days the NHRA [among other organizations] won't allow 'em to be run on their tracks...which speaks volumes all by itself.)
'Mucho safer just to run aluminum facsimiles anywhere and be done with it IMHO. ;-)
