If you search the board, you'll find we talked about
the possibility of using a 914 as a donor/platform.
The dimensions are close, and it's already mid-engined.
But it's superior handling is based on the small 4
cyl or even a flat 6 from a 911. You can still use those,
but if you want to drop a V8 in, the handling changes
immensely. Even a strong 3.6DME from a late model 911
requires a significant amount of work on the 914's
brakes and suspension to keep its nimbleness (I've
done a lot of research into this as it was another
project I was contemplating).
And just for net-etiquette - please don't type in all
capital letters. On the net that means you're yelling.
And it's grating on the eyes.
