Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, let me guess, Keith...I take it what you're trying to tell me/us is you hold other venues in considerably higher regard???
Infinitesimally Larry. Even Babylon had a point.
Vegas has become the absolute apogee of American fake,a nightmare realization of the country's bloated and excessive self image and shows what Hollywood, given their cocaine addled head, would do the the rest of the country if they had an opportunity.
Vegas also, either by accident or design, has become Americas living history and cultural exhibition -
this is how Americans see foreigners - bloated satirical parodies cast in their own tragic mould.
America is a beautiful unique and wonderful place with a natural beauty that takes your breath away - welcoming and terrifying side by side as only nature can disport herself - just as it should be. Nature should be in charge here, not Plastic Pam.
Perhaps it's all a bit of a laugh? But if the increasingly growing streams of obese sugar bloated visitors continues, perhaps soon you may see Vegas South, Vegas East and Vegas North..
Perhaps even facilitated by one of your own very senior politicians who might trade an askance official eye in exchange for private sector billions to kick start failed, corrupt or unworkable Social Security programmes.
Far fetched? It happened here when Bliar and Brown, following their mugging of Britain's gold reserves, they targeted the Nation's moral health bank by planning a series of Supercasinos designed to rake in gambling tax to bolster failing policies. At least the US Govt spent billions trying to dismantle America's crooked gambling industry (Vegas) but here it seems our Govt clearly believed that "Gambling was fun" and everybody should have a go.
It was eventually stopped - the People were not having any this Champagne Socialist Shit - the few People with still a modicum of sanity left in them that is, but the legacy remains. It is not possible to turn on national TV in the UK and NOT be bombard by TV gaming channels all through the night from 9pm daily and it is disgraceful.
The danger is that Vegas becomes the norm - the benchmark standard by which all future generations will judge how they're doing.
Even in our lifetime of moral Paradox, Vegas is a cess pit of moral turpitude.
There again it may be a bit of a laugh mightn't it - harmlessly the envy of a Chav World.
Vegas is surrounded by distant hills who's lightning storms flash silently and incessantly in the dim distance - the power & beauty of nature's light show more than equaling the squalid brashness of the argon and neon ambience of this dead city.
Try reversing the roles and drive into the mountains and look down on the BLOB that is Vegas. Then turn your head North and keep going...
