NRG quick release part numbers

I will try various rotation positions and report back.

There should be a sleeve threaded onto the end of the steering shaft to adapt it to the
size of the quick release that came with the car.
If the threads do not go all of the way to the end of the shaft, you probably
have to remove the threaded sleeve.

This is a photo of my steering column. Do I need to do something with this before I try to put on the NRG adapter? Does this look like the steering column that the NRG fits on?

The smooth shaft on the end can be unthreaded from the stock column shaft unless someone welded it on. (The part that is past the splined section). Ron nailed it in his post.

If it's on tight you can try wrapping some tape around the shaft then use a small pipe wrench to get it loose.
