I knew that this was a late issue, as this block was originally counterbored for Cooper rings with GW heads for racing and these rings were not used by John Wyer until 1967.
However I did not know that the early racing blocks were only two bolt mains like HiPo's. This surprises me.

I am searching for a 289 HiPo block to go with these NOS Boss rods and 289 HiPo crank for a second engine.
Although not Indy weight rods or a forged crank these will make up a nice motor.

Dave,
Standard Boss 302 and also used in the 289 HiPo. These are C3AE's
The shallow throw in the 289 crank makes up for the shortfall in the stroke.

Here is a shot of a couple of my MkII coolers with better bases than those shown earlier.
I chose these two new bases for those larger Vernatherm nozzles which will give improved flow rates when used as outlets.

Here is a pair of original iron C6FE heads which I bought this evening.
They have Mondello porting and stamps.
