Sounds like you guys had a great weekend. (well...other than the tire wall part :)

Dean, really sorry to hear man. As you mentioned, you walked away. This is the important part. Please let us know the extent of the damage once assessed. Didn't actually look too bad from the pics, especially considering the impact.

Dean,

Very pleased to learn you're (aside from a little wear) okay after the off-course... considering the alternative, tire walls can be a good thing. I know I can speak for many here on the forum in hoping that the total repairs to the bodywork are covered with a little elbow grease and buffing wheel.

As for the troll in question, Mark pretty much covered it.

Dean,
Your car is absolutely amazing and thanks for the high resolution pics you sent me. Sorry about the track accident, but at least you're OK and the car isn't too banged up. Nothing a body shop can't fix, or you yourself.

Anyway, the SL-C...
What are the initial driving thoughts? How did she behave on the track? Are the drivers impressed or is there room for improvement? Personally I'd think it's set up pretty damn well and would only need minor tweaking for each course.

So, what's the scoop drivers?

Oh, and what did it run in the 1/4 mile?

Spill it!!

I was talking to John about his driving impressions while I got a few laps around the track in the passenger seat at parade pace, he had nothing but complimentary things to say about the car, and the LS7. It is very stiff, has little body roll. The parade pace was not very fast, but you could just feel the turn it and cornering ability of the car, simply awesome!

I'm sure once the Aussie guys are back home John will give you the run down of how she felt.

Unfortunately, no good 1/4 mile runs were made. Fran said they were having clutch alignment issues I believe, I'll let him respond.

All issues were drive train related, the car itself performed awesome!

Everyone, here are my first impressions with the SLC.

You will have to keep in mind that this is the first time that I have driven this car, first time I've driven at that track and the first time I've driven a left hand drive car. I'm not a professional driver, just someone who likes building cars and driving in club racing events, like Run'n'Gun.

This was the first track outing for the SLC which was built as a road car with road car setup, so its performance at this event was a credit to Fran and his guys.

The SLC was very easy to drive and accomodated me easily (I'm 6'2"). In the cobras and the GT40 its always been a tight fit. Pedal position was good, plenty of space for heal/toe or left foot brake. The steering has a electric adjustment, which allows the driver to get it just right, for track work a bit closer than you would run it on the street.

I was blown away with the handling of the SLC. Its runs very flat, even in high G corners, but isn't harsh in ride with the road going springs in. It provided very good initial turn in grip, well balanced, with some push on exiting the corners which made it quite easy to drive fast. There was masive rear grip, with with the power of the LS7 (stock) pushing it along.

This was also the first time I've driven a car with a LS7 in it. Its a great motor which has the low down torque of a big block as you would expect, but revs as well and it sounds just great, couldn't get enough of that exhaust note.

These are just some quick thought as I'm still travelling, will be back in Aus on the weekend. I should also thank Fran (RCR) for oportunity of a lifetime and also thank the organisers of Run'n'Gun for running a succesful and very friendly event (always someone willing to lend a hand, or point out which side of the car to get into).

John White.

I also had a fantastic time at Run & Gun. The hospitality and enthusiasm of the competitiors was amazing. It didn't matter what kit type you owned or manufacturer association, it just felt like a big group of car guys out having a great time with their vehicles.

I was extremely happy with the performance of the SL-C, it's got potential in spades. Just got to dial in the right suspension set up and it will be a killer car on the track.

I've attached some more photos of the SL-C at Run & Gun. Enjoy.
