Sequential gear boxes?

This is my first post. Fell in love with the 40 over three years ago and have been researching the turnkey option since. Hello to everyone from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Has anyone considered using a sequential gear box in their 40?

Quicker gear changes?

How is the reliability?

There are a couple that are out there and it can be done. All of them a very expensive. We are currently working on a system for the RF.

Mike Inglis (aka Jasper on the forum) has a Quaife sequential unit fitted to his GTD based in the UK.

Thanks a lot Martin. Got on the web and there is a Quaife distributor right here is Dallas.(Taylor Race Engineering) I'll call them tomorrow. Would really like to go with SMG for my Ultima as it will primarily be a race car. Web site gives no clue as to cost.
Did notice they recommend 500hp max.

I'll let everyone know what I find out.

The list price is going to be close to $20k. My understanding is that the Mk. I and Mk II can take 600 - 700 bhp. The Mk II version setup as a Porsche replacement is rated at 500 hp.
