Three piece billet wheel centers

In an effort to continue bringing cool parts to our hobby...we have been developing some more correct wheel centers for the rarer cars....
We have done a version for our RCRP4 and also for the RCR917's....the RCR70's are next...
These are three piece 15 inch diameter wheels....
The gold wheel is an original Ferrari Campagnolo wheel....
The 917 billet center was media blasted to simulate a cast surface..
keep in mind these are prototype parts....but pretty representative of a production piece..

Sweet, that CNC opens up a world of opportunity.

On the outer band of the center did you look at making it continuous? Where the end of the star points are, there's a little gap in the outer band. Change in section like that makes for less strength. It would also allow for a nice radius at the star points, and you could probably make the whole band a little thinner at least at the front.

Are those Compomotive rim halves? Are the white dots for a 3D measuring device?

here's the Team 3 center with similar construction (except welded), note the continuous (uniform section) outer band. The bolt together assembly is preferred though, doesn't compromise the heat treat of the aluminum pieces. Of course you would have to widen the band at least at the back for the bolts.

Kalun,

I have been through both scenarios..welded and bolted.

What you dont see is the continuos band around the rim on the backside.

When we ran the FEA we were well within the required DOT specs.

Our blanks are thick too so there is a lot of material left where we need it ....

The rims are not Compomotive.....
