Anyone in US have a hydro pneumatic riveter that they no longer need and want to sell?
A CherryMax rivet can be installed with a conventional tool but it costs about $1 a piece. An Avex is a very good compromise. A good epoxy primer is worthwhile too.Neil, in reading your past info on attaching the alloy sheets I thought about going the Huck or Cherry Max rivet way. I just looked at the AVEX you recommended and that is a nice price for the quantity and does not require a $400 gun to install. I can just get a pneumatic and off I go. Just preparing for the holidays. I plan to paint the chassis in 2 weeks and start paneling
Have one coming tomorrow. Will see how it does on some test. Fingers crossed. The Milwaukee rivet gun is superb!
You'll get tired of drilling countersunk holes in a real hurry. Plus, you should use a countersink stop to get the depth right. Use dome head rivets unless necessary to use countersunk. You'll also need a threaded countersink- 82 degree or 90 degree?Dome, or Countersunk head, any recommendation?
You will love it!!! One of my most used tools!Have one coming tomorrow. Will see how it does on some test. Fingers crossed.
