What to do in San Diego?

I will have nearly a week of day hours to myself as the better half attends continuing education lectures. Interested in car, motorcycle (esp. Ducati), boat, aircraft, manufacturer, craftsman architecture... stuff. Anyone out there have a GT40?
Thanks,
Scott

Drop in at VIP Classics and say hi to Roy Sayles. He distributes CAV's and would be happy to show you, not just one but several that he has in his showroom /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will do better than that. We usually have 4 - 8 CAV GT's in stock and if you call me first and let me know when you will be in our show room, you can first see approx. 80 other classic, exotic, and vintage cars. Then, if you bring a spare pair of nickers I might be persuaded to take you for a spin in my G.T. 630 H.P. which by the way I will be racing at California Speedway, in Fontana, on Sunday, June 19. We'll see if we can blow off a few of those Ferrari challenge cars. Call me on my cell if you're interested 619-708-3180.

When are you going to be there?

Check out Symbolic Motors in La Jolla as well as VIP.

There is also the San Diego Auto Museum in Balboa Park

http://www.sdautomuseum.org/

which is right next to the Aerospace museum.

And some SCCA Solo2 racing at Qualcomm stadium the 16th and 17th
of July:

Unfortunately, the Coronado Vintage races are in October,
adn there used to be other events which I cannot recall.

Boy, I sure miss SD sometimes.

Oh, I forgot all about your interest in Craftsman architecture.

Hillcrest, North Park, Kensington and Mission Hills have a bunch
of old Craftsman houses, and probably Golden Hill, Banker's Hill
will too. You can spend a couple of days wandering around there
alone, and Balboa Park (where the Auto and Aerospace Museums
are) is in Hillcrest/North Park.
