    Giving GT40s a bad name?

Guys, calm down :) I repeat, there's no witch hunt, and I think (if it's who I believe it to be) that I've enjoyed several lunches with the guy; there's no hidden agenda in my postings and certainly I'm not trying to be "nasty" on this, a public forum. Mr. Driver of the car in question, I...

    Giving GT40s a bad name?

Oh, come off it. There's no witch hunt, Brian. There's no conspiracy and no-one's wearing a tin foil hat. Did you read the PH thread? Malc was concerned that the reputation of the gt40 community (of which we're all a part) was in danger of being compromised. That's all. I wasn't...

    Giving GT40s a bad name?

Hmmmmmm. Nearly 300 viewings of this thread and so far, no-one coming forward  Just to confirm that it wasn't me - for the record, obviously........ :D I suspect I know who the driver in question is, but will keep mum for now, just in case I'm wrong. As usual, Malc is...

8/9 Sept Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone

I've just arrived home from Silverstone, having left the circuit around 7.45pm. GOOD NEWS - the car was repaired and back in the race. Malc was due to drive next, so let's hope their luck changes.... Give me some time and I'll post a couple of photos :) Charles Edited to add: Sorry - I...

    Silverstone Track Day, anyone...?

I've just booked with Goldtrack for their Silverstone date on 27th September. Does anyone fancy joining me? If so, call Goldtrack on 01327 361 361. It goes without saying that Goldtrack are second to none when it comes to running a smooth, safe day, and that the standards of driving are...

    AMOC Goodwood Sprint

Crikey! I take my hat off to both of you! Are those the quickest laps from a GTD? Malc, just out of interest, what spec. was your car at that time - hp, brakes, suspension.... and what tyres were you using? Does anyone have an estimate for the differential between a standing start...

Where do you go from a ’40?

Some great ideas here! Chris, the 908 is a great choice, as are Martin's Ferrari 512S and 917. Of those three, the 917 would get my vote. How many magazine articles have you read where the phrase "fearsome 917" appears? :D I wouldn't kick the 250LM out of my garage either...... Flying...

    Quick advice please.....

Malc, I use it. As you know, it works by causing the rain to "bead up" and run off the screen. It works best at speed but yes, you can still use the wipers. Charles

Where do you go from a ’40?

I’ve had mine for 7 years and still enjoy owning it just as much as I did when I first bought it. I work long hours and have a young family so tend to take holiday from work to drive it. Inevitably, I suppose, it’s mainly used for track days and I drive it to the track and back home again...

    J40GT party pictures.....

A great day all round! I didn't bring my camera but there are photos here - including a chap with a silver radical, apparently........ :D Charles

    GT40 Goodwood reunion 2007

We're veering off topic here but I think Malc has raised an important point. I know that many owners have spent **lots** of money on lowered this, revised that, "improved" dingles, dongles and dangles. The question is, does it always make the car faster? Perhaps we should start a new...

J40GT birthday party on Silverstone GP circuit

I've just spoken to Melindi and booked my place. As usual, Malcolm is correct - Goldtrack days are as well organised as any and driving the full GP circuit at Silverstone is superb fun :D Also, it's a very safe circuit with lots of run-off so there's plenty of room to play.... So...
