New carbon wheels for the SLC?

Cool wheels, but not 15k cool...At least not for what I do. If anything, I'd just have aluminum wheels hydro-dipped with a carbon fiber pattern and a clear powdercoat over the top.

    New powerplant for the SLC

As much as I love the LS-based motors, I'd love to stick an engine out of an F355 in an SLC. One of my favorite Ferrari engines.

    Flat Plane Crank LS1

Jeeze, who's selling you titanium retainers for $500 more than stainless? I can buy a full set for under $200. Do you mean valves? I'm glad someone is finally doing a flat-plane crank for the LS motors. I always had the idea in my head, but it would be way to pricey to just do a one-off.

    Start engine w/o serpentine belt?

We've fired numerous engines without a belt on it...As stated, just don't run it long enough to overheat. As far as break-in goes, everyone I know does the following: Let it idle for a few minutes while you set valve lash, timing, carb adjustments, etc. This works out all of the assembly...

I'm sorry if its on here but I cant find it. What motor was used in the slc racecar?

Re: I'm sorry if its on here but I cant find it. What motor was used in the slc racec The great thing with the LS style motors is the versatility. You can start with a $300 junkyard 5.3 and get the car running and driving while you build/buy a much nicer motor...Then just bolt the new one in...

    owning an SL-C

Honestly, 100mph and 160mph is the same charge typically...I say go for it. ;)

Geez, those last two pictures make my coil pots from high-school pottery class look like crap. :(

RCR Ferrari P-4 has entered the building

Looks great. Those V12's do have a great sound to them..Can't wait for a video of this thing running.

    RCR's Next car should be.....

I love the "Shooting Brake" style cars. Like the Thorndike Special from Herbie the Love Bug: Long front end, passenger compartment pushed back to the rear of the car. I love it. The 240z is the same style: Imagine that style, but in a much more modern-looking, race-car form...

RCR Ferrari P-4 has entered the building

In factory trim: Hard to see in the picture, but there's tiny little vacuum lines and worm gear clamps everywhere...On a 72 Ferrari, that's scary...lol

    Any Chicago SL-C guys?

That's a possibility one of these days. The guys at Milan Raceway put on a bunch of drag racing events so maybe I can make it a two for one trip.

    Any Chicago SL-C guys?

Thanks, unfortunately they're all long gone. I need to buy a house and then I'm strongly considering ordering an SL-C. My buddy works at one of the best LSx engine builders in the country, so I think we can come up with a nice little ls2 or ls3 based motor for it.

    Any Chicago SL-C guys?

I'm interested in one of these cars, but would like to see one up close and in person to see what they're all about. They look awesome in the pics and videos I've seen so far. I'm 6'2" 265 or so, so I'd like to possibly sit it one as well. How is the shoulder and arm room with that door...
