ps I learned yesterday that this unit came from England a few years ago-I am in the process of finding the English history now....
I was very interested in this car when Mike Duell put it up for sale-anybody know what became of it-is it owned by a member of this group?

I would like to see a photo of the bellhousing. I will try to post photos of the Colotti today.
Sorry no history. When sports racers such as the Lotus Nineteen were updated to V8 engines in the mid sixties some were fitted with Colotti T37s. This may have been a spare unit for a wealthy team...
For those who want to create (or have!) the original GT40.
Colotti T37 serial #1056 I believe it is NOS since it has not been apart and shows no sign of use. (There were a few-very few-left unused after the switch to V8 engines in sports racers in the mid sixties).
As a T37 it would be a four...

Thank you, According to Fran from RCR there are none of his cars up here and I don't think I have ever seen a replica GT40 in the Vancouver area. Dave Cohen used to have a real one-I drove that briefly-but nothing else to look at.
Hi everyone, I am in Vancouver, Canada and don't presently own a GT40-even a model! I do have a couple of interesting cars but the GT 40 is in a different league. I saw my first GT40 in the mid sixties coming down Guildford highstreet in England (Cobble stones and all) wearing learner plates...
I noticed the car didn't sell on epay. The angle of the driveshafts puzzles me-is that normal with this transmission. I emailed the owner and he said the ride height had not been set but that is obviously not the reason-may not be important with cv joints I suppose.
Well, I seem to have screwed up from the beginning by posting on a thread and challenging the common knowledge here!! Oh well.
I am presently in the midst of restoring my Aston DB2 - expensive proposition - but I am really intrigued with the idea of getting a Gt40 'clone'. I was interested...
Hi I'm new and this is probably no way to introduce myself but i couldn't help it:rolleyes: I have been a fan of the GT40 since it's creation in England-not far from where I lived at the time.
My background is 30 years involvement in historic and vintage racing-both prepping and driving cars...
