    Russ' AP GT40 Rebuild

Here's an update on my GT40. Rework/refurbed the front suspension and brakes. Painted the Corvette calipers and bead blasted the rotors. The calipers no longer have Corvette on them. Ground that off and sanded smooth. Sure don't need to advertise Corvette on a GT40. Reworked the bulkhead...

    Russ' AP GT40 Rebuild

Thanks much for the words of encouragement. My car had been started by a previous owner. Right now I have the front suspension components removed to bead blast them, replace all of the bolts with Grade 8, although the C6 suspension uses metric 8.8 so some will be metric, weld up some...

    Russ' AP GT40 Rebuild

Springs - QA1 Front - 3.5" x 10", 450lb Rear - 3.5" x 10", 650lb Shocks QA1 Not sure of model. They are non-adjustable. These came with the car. Might be able to identify them on the QA1 website based on how they mount. Note that I have an early model AP GT40. Rear calipers are on trailing...

    Russ' AP GT40 Rebuild

Another update on my GT40. Cleaned up the rear suspension components, painted the calipers, axle shafts, etc., replaced the bolts with Grade 8 components and put retaining bands on the CV bellows. Looking better. Some before and after pix. Still got plenty more to work on.

Welcome Bob!!! Great choice with the Active Power GT40. Your will enjoy the build. I have a AP GT40 in progress that was originally bought in 2015 and far from completion. I acquired it in August and am in the process of reworking it to my liking. I'm down in San Antonio if you are ever...

    Stack's Active Power GT40 Build

Thanks Much. Pretty simple, should be able to incorporate something similar into the rear-most baffle to hold the fuel. -- Russ

    Stack's Active Power GT40 Build

Mark -- I like the Aeromotive Products fuel pump assembly you used. My fuel tanks have no baffles in them at all. I was going to add 4-5 baffles along the length with the one at the rear having holes a bit further up to hold the fuel for the pickup. Having a trap door sounds like a better...

    Russ' AP GT40 Rebuild

I acquired a Active Power GT40 that was started several years ago. Sat for a good while and deteriorated a bit so am in the process of rebuilding it back to it's intended condition . Relatively new Ford 302 with rebuilt Porsche transaxle, Corvette C5 suspension, Mickey Thompson tires. Needs...

    New Member in San Antonio

Glad to be a part of this forum. I recently bought an unfinished Active Power GT40. Looks like someone started it years ago. Unknown vintage but I believe it must be an early version. It has struss rods to hold the front clip and radiator instead of formed sheetmetal (anybody help me here?)...
