    Nemesis testing report.

Any idea what your best lap time was?

    R C R Nemesis

As someone looking at Radical SR3s, I'd love a more "streetable" option (though I really don't think I'll drive it on the street much, it would be fun now and then). Radical recommends up to 100mm of ride height, which would be plenty if it wasn't for the long nose and splitter. If this car is...

    Working for the Dark side...!!!!

I looked at that for a while... and couldn't figure out why they would design it like that?? It didn't look very strong either, although I'm not much of a ME. On the stock C5 of course the suspension adjustment is done via the lower control arm, although some people shim the upper arm mounting...

    Working for the Dark side...!!!!

The factory C5 (and I think C6 as well) bushings aren't really up to the task of tracking a ~3100lb street car on decent rubber (you get alignment shifts). They might be ok on a ~2300lb GTM, but I'd think an upgrade to VB&P's poly-graphite bushings would in order for any GTM build. I was...

    Superlite "Le Mans"

I like it for more of a track car. The lack of a roof means it'll be much easier to get in and out of with a full cage in it, which is especially important if its on fire! Can't say if I'd buy one or not, I need to go see a SL car (or the factory) after the holidays are over.

    Superlite "Le Mans"

Surely you won't change the SL-C's tooling just for a topless version? In any case, my only suggestion would be some canards under the headlights, but I'm not sure if there is enough of an angle in that area... And canards are something thats not so difficult for the builder to attach himself...

    Superlite "Le Mans"

Ditto... I'd buy a LMP SL-R in a heartbeat (guesstimating, I'd say I'd be willing to pay $25k for a roller). Although we really don't know how much weight and cost it would add to the car... Fran might not be so keen on offering something like that for good reasons which are unknown to us. In...

    Superlite "Le Mans"

Dammit Fran, there are enough choices out there without me having to choose between so many awesome cars from a single manufacturer! The Ultima GTR and CanAm really do nothing for me after seeing your cars. I'll take one with the fender louvers, a full cage, and a full downforce package. ...and...

    Superlite Roadster....

Fran, That drawing of the F1 looks great! I love the brake ducts and (functional?) splitter. Is there going to be any covering over the top of the motor? What size wheels does it come with? One suggestion: Offer a brake light that mounts high, maybe on the backs of the seats, so SUVs don't...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

More acceleration only increases rear grip to a certain point, after which it begins to decrease it rather rapidly. I've driven MR2s, for example, that got totally sideways rolling onto the gas out of 2nd and 3rd gear corners. IMO, it depends on what sort of power you want to make, and how...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

You're assuming you don't want that extra weight transfer that causes more understeer. In a car with a relatively normal power/weight ratio thats probably the case. But take a twin turbo Ford GT for instance; it could certainly use more weight over the rear under acceleration. I've ridden in one...

    Australia changes Government

Looking at US history (I'm a yank), I'm not sure how much switching out the people in charge would help things by itself. The problem here is that politics seem to be extremely short-sighted, basically just looking to win their next election (which for congressmen, is 2 years). Under this...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Wimp. OK, ideally I'd prefer a removable top and windshield too. I live close to 2 tracks, and so would probably prefer a simple wind deflector most of the time, but more weather gear would be nice for longer trips to Road Atlanta or Sebring. Still, I'd happily settle for packing a poncho. The...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

I'd love a simple, light, mid-transverse engined car with modern aero. Like the SL-R with a LMP body put over it. Open top, no doors (and yeah, I'd race it in the rain). I love the look of the SL-C... But I go through 4 sets of tires a year, give or take, and those 345/30/18 rears are expensive...

    Engines for Superlight Roadster

Bringing this one back from the dead, but I'd recommend looking into the VQ35DE from the Nissan Maxima. Its the same 60-degree V6 that comes in the 350Z with a FWD 6-speed transaxle and helical LSD. The newer 3.7L versions put down about 290 at the wheels in stock G37 Infinities. Gearing won't...
