Not needed.
I would add a reinforcement plate. In the Diablo replica with the big tires even the slightest slip of the clutch will cause damage.
On the road crusing this trans is a great choice. Racing...not so much.

I am a high school automotive teacher. I had four girls scrap away with putty knives and a wire brush. I let them paint it too. They were very proud of their work.
IF you try to never hit the gas pedal while your foot is on the clutch pedal it will last a long time. You must tighten the driveline on a takeoff and do clean shifts with a zero throttle opening. After your foot is off the clutch pedal go nuts, it can take lots of power.
The plate is easy to...
Running 3800SC - about 300HP
Broke the cast iron case by popping the clutch in first gear. (three times)
Installed a reinforcement plate in the rear and it never broke again.

I just used a screwdriver at one edge. This will create a dent at that area. What I did, since I am a cheap b@$tard, is use a large socket and a hammer to tap it back into shape. A little silicone and pound it back home. Never had one leak.
It is really simple to make yourself. I have an install step-by-step on my site too. You will need to hae your rear housing machined also.

I went through 3 transaxles in a month while the car was a rental. I had to find a cure.

Hi Doro, just read this thread tonight.
If you get yourself a metal plate (alum or steel) and follow the directions I have on my site in this word document -

you should not need the template for the engine...
Here is how I made my BMW fit an Audi 016. Some ideas to add to this pot.
One link is a photo page and the other is a MS Word document.

This is a WORD doc that I made on how I made the BMW to Audi aapter plate. The process is similar for any engine and some may find it useful.

He copied mine and gave me credit on another website. I have a few problems with it. 1) it is powder coated thus making it slightly thicker. 2) he is offering two gaskets with it making it even thicker.
I feel this will put the rear support bearing too far rearward and cause problems. The rear...
You can use it by doing one of two things. You can weld the shafts together just under the rear cover so the forward running pinion shaft has to turn, OR make a special collar to replace the existing to achieve the same outcome.
I am so confident in the 016 that I am bolting up to this little powerplant for my next project. I installed the rear plate and a steel release bearing tube.
(had three plastic ones melt on me).
If I don't abuse it I am sure it will last a long time.

We had this problem in trucks using ceramic button clutches. It takes a long time to wear in and it will go away in time. Some drivers could actually break diffs and driveshaft when heavily loaded on take offs because of the chatter/shutter.
I just install a relined clutch disc with Kevlar...
