Why not run a high pressure, in-tank, starvation protected pump in each tank, through a pollack 6-port valve and eliminate the surge tank/3rd pump? There are various options for in-tank pumps which avoid fuel slosh starvation issues from Summit - inc Aeromotive, Holley and Summit's own branded...

In my last 289, I wired the 6AL with a Deutsch connector so I could bypass it in seconds for when it fails. This is how little faith I have in MSD CDI boxes. When I was much younger, I lost a national title because of a MSD. Once bitten, twice shy.

I had an issue with a faulty hall effect sensor in the distributor. The rpm reading randomly cut to 0 when driving, worsened by heat. Not saying this is your issue, just adding that the hall effect sensors can fail, although MSD cdi boxes are known to be unreliable.

After reading this thread, I swapped my 6 point roll cage for a 4 point. Now I just have to work out how to upload photos to this forum...

Another vote for Water Wetter. I live in a hot climate where maximum cooling is more important ant than anti freeze.
