    ZF vs. Quaife

I can only speak for an RBT in an SPF with 427 Roush. Have never had any synchro problems after 30K miles. Did lose two 4th gears on track days though. You don't say whether your ZF has ever been rebuilt or mileage on synchros.

clutch alignment tool for RBT 5DS to 351W

Standard RBT input shaft spline is 29 mm x 10. This comes from the BMW M1 configured ZF box. https://www.bimmerworld.com/Tools/BMW-Clutch-Tools/BMW-Clutch-Alignment-Tool-E30.html?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAu8W6BhC-ARIsACEQoDB-pK9tMd4AFn0ZWkXdBXINvT1uR46yIHv5NiSGJ9hWwSAc8eajE78aAlKQEALw_wcB

where do these 4 wires to A/C relay go ?SPF P2116 GT 40 MKII

Mark, Do not connect additional wires to the thermostat. I cannot locate any green/red wires on Blas' wiring diagram. Guesses might be the high pressure switch with green/yellow wires or wires going to the recirculation switch motor on top of the a/c box driver's side.

where do these 4 wires to A/C relay go ?SPF P2116 GT 40 MKII

Pink and purple wires go to right 2 terminals (silver color) on what looks like the a/c thermostat. Doesn't matter which goes on which terminal, you can't damage anything. Other green wires I don't know. Where are they coming from? If you have much rewiring to do I would highly recommend Blas...

FYI - P/1032 to be auctioned at RM Sothebys Miami Feb 2025

Why the large steering wheel pad ? It's in some photos but not others. Unique to this Mk 11 ?

Newbie here-need direction installing 427sbf and RBT into my SPF GT 40 MK II

I would rethink the internal throw out bearing especially as it looks like a McLeod one. I had 2 of those leak and finally got fed up and went with an external slave. The McLeod bearing kept leaking at the swivel fittings. It is easier to install the engine first, then the bellhousing, and...

New Superformance darting L or R at only 40mph.

Just like an original GT40 caster is not adjustable on SPF's. There is no space in the chassis mountings to use washers. I don't think caster is a problem as it is 6-7 degrees on SPF. Unless the car has frame damage I would suspect toe out front or rear.

    QUAIFE QBE62G EXPERIENCE

I see Quaife has a .74 5th gear. My RBT has a 3.77 diff with .64 5th gear. That is so high I don't even use 5th gear on track days on my local track with half mile straights. Even Road America would be fine with that diff at 205 mph theoretical top speed. With a Quaife 3.5 and .74 5th you're at...

    SPF Wheel Bearing Maintenance

Different Dave here, but rears also require disassembly and greasing. I do mine about every 6-8000 miles. Rears require disconnecting drive axle at outer flange and removal of stub axle inside hub usually with a special tool Olthoff sells. Some have fabricated their own tool and some are able...

    Wanted: 10x15 wheels

Are you sure these are 2 piece? I got BRM style wheels from Vintage in the past that were one piece.

Congratulations on the SPF. Lloyd at RBT doesn't do e mail. Best to call him just before 8am PST.

New member with a 427 CAV dry sump and transmission problems

Both the ZFQ and RBT 5 are rated to about 500 lb. ft. There are stories of ZF and the modern iterations in 700 hp Panteras, but you're definitely stretching things. I broke 4th gear twice with my RBT, 520 lb. ft. 427 Roush, and semi slicks on track days. Read this for some perspective...

New member with a 427 CAV dry sump and transmission problems

You should be looking for something like a MFT Hollinger from Australia if hard launches are your bag. https://www.gt40s.com/threads/mft-holinger-for-gt40.57314/

I believe both Mk I and II Superformance have vented rotors with no difference.

Drilling holes in SPF center spine

If you are mounting a fire system rather than a removable fire bottle consider mounting the bottle in the front boot below the steering rack. I did that and ran discharge lines to the the cockpit and the engine. Mounted the handle to the pull cable under the dash just left of the center console.
