    SPF Evaporator wiring

    SPF changed their a/c evaporator at sometime. The new evaporator has different plumbing and wiring than the old version. There is a 5 plug electrical terminal on top of the recirculation door actuator. Is that not used? Just the 4 wire plug coming out lower on the box?

    If you don't specify the BMW M1 shaft is the default. As mentioned there are options. Best to call Lloyd just before 8am PST. He can be hard to reach.

    SPF ZF Gearing

    My RBT has a 3.77 diff with gear ratios 2.58/1.61/1.14/.846/.642 . Works really well on the street. 5th gear is only 1800 rpm @ 60mph.

    Interesting photo. Is that an inner CV joint with outer U joint? Was that common on MK 11 ?

    You can access the inner part of the latch by removing the black door 'pocket' assembly. That may help to see the problem.

    I always loaded mine rear first to get trailer weight distribution right. If you load front first you may not have enough tongue weight and trailer will be squirrely. An electric winch works great, but you do have to get the car lined up straight as you won't be able to adjust the steering...

    Don't think the site is gone. Frequently there are temporary shutdowns or difficulties in bringing the site up. This has been going on for a few years now.

    Agree that the repair is worth a try. I'm not optimistic you're going to get the balancer off and back on with SPF clearance. Also towing the car and having the engine removed is way more complicated.

    If you look carefully those are not rivets, but very small metric allen heads. I got that panel off without paint damage.
