SPF Front Hub Retention Ring Failure

Interesting Olthoff alternative. Is it possible to use 3 retention screws with this instead of the original 2 ?

SPF Front Hub Retention Ring Failure

Because SPF exactly copies the original parts 2 tapered roller bearings are used. There is no way to get an interference fit. More modern bearings like double row angular contact ball bearings are used on most race cars now. That being said I've owned my SPF for 14 years now and have not had...

    Blown Slave Cylinder

What is the brand of the slave cylinder? From your description it's an internal concentric type?

    What’s up with this GT110/X-1?

Thank you Paulus. These stories of so called original 40's are amazing.

    What’s up with this GT110/X-1?

Not arguing if it's a replica, but if it's the ERA you reference there are a lot of mods including RHD, RH shift, different seats, etc.

    Goodwood Revival - 2021

There were 7 GT40's in the race. Just didn't give them as much video time as leaders.

    Transmission cooler

Assume you have an SPF with RBT (or ZF) trans on order? You don't need a trans cooler. I did many track days without a cooler. Only if you're on track for more than half an hour might you need one.

    Looking to buy

I would contact Rick Muck, longtime SPF dealer at Time Machines Motorsports. He more than anyone on this forum would have the most knowledge of SPF MkII FE's built.

My guess is about $20K due to the rarity.

    Looking to buy

I don't think it's a financial reason either. SPF markets their GT40 to be fitted with a Windsor commonly a Roush prepped one. An FE is a very tight fit especially at the firewall with an A/C compressor (obviously the race cars had no a/c). No one makes an crate FE already prepped to drop in an...

    Looking to buy

I'm not saying an FE and a Windsor are the same, but there are very, very few SPF's with an FE. This is unlike Cobras with many FE's available. This requirement along with your others is probably unobtanium in the used market.

    Looking to buy

Hi Steve, Your FE engine requirement is probably the biggest stumbling block. If you won't accept a 427W stroker then you probably should swap the engine yourself or buy a new SPF roller.

Help with Quick Fuel accelerator pump linkage adjustment

Yes I had a big flat spot before changing cams. That will make a much bigger difference than pre load or nozzle size. Once you get the cam kit look at the fuel delivery diagrams. The difference between different cams is dramatic.

Help with Quick Fuel accelerator pump linkage adjustment

I have a QF 750 on a 427 Windsor. QF sends the 750 with .031" nozzles. I did not change these. Since you're running a 650 on a 351 Cleveland I wouldn't change the .028" nozzles unless you can't dial it in with the cams.

Help with Quick Fuel accelerator pump linkage adjustment

I set my Quick Fuel with just the slightest play on the pump arms. Probably less than .010". You may need to change the accelerator cams. Buy Holley 20-12 that has an assortment of cams. These alter the depth and duration of the pump shot. I think Quick Fuel puts the pink one in standard but I...
