    Road trip

As a all year around motorcyclist - Gore-tex products are your friend. I was thinking of getting some Gore-Tex sneaker so I could watch my kids play Saturday sports without having to change into the Wellies (Gumboots). Pleased you got it sorted Brian.

    Tires for 15”x14” rim??

Here in NZ the local agent shows a * next to the measured rim of 10"-13" which states add 1" to width if used for competition use. So to me that means Michelin have those approved for up to 14" wide.

Well not a gt40 my Datsun 260z has been in the shed for 23 years now and 20 of that is wait for me to assemble it as I have taken on other projects (other Datsun 240z racecars, motorbike, 4 kids) but it needs to get finished to help fund the GT40 kit that is on its way soon

    Roll Cage question .......

I have owned/raced Datsun 240z which don't have a lot of room for a full cage. Your head is very close to roof/door bar and depending on the cage installation and your height I have seen drivers helmets rub on that bar during a race let alone an impact. I have owned/raced a classis mini also...

    Australian Compliant Seatbelts

The Securon 264 is a universal rear auto retracting seat belt. The front equivalent is the 500 series. The 500 series are AS/NZS 2596 and EU regulation R16 E so I would have thought the rear 264 would be too...

As Mark Stated - someone is using the photos from this forum and the exact same wording in a new ad on a few websites - ie link I shared in post #3. This is not relate to the original poster Martin who sold the transaxle back in 2012. So some 8 years later someone is trying to scam those looking...

    Mounting UN1 upside down

Right I can get one custom made locally here in NZ - cost will vary depending on if a single unit for just my self or if I get a mold made up so I can get 5 sand cast up = more upfront cost for me but I could sell 4 others if there was enough interest - to offset the cost and they would be 1/2...

    Mounting UN1 upside down

Thank you KevinB for the info. I was looking at pictures of the ZF 5DS-25 bellhousing and this looks short and the mounting for the ZF is large round mounting face. So was thinking of an adaptor where the UN1 bellhousing mounts thus going from UN1 to a ZF bellhousing with the un1 inverted. I...

    Mounting UN1 upside down

That is exactly why I am thinking of do it. Soni can have the engine lower/more original location. Also if I ever decide to upgrade to ZF later on I don't have to locate the engine.

    Mounting UN1 upside down

Question... Do or have people installed a Renault UN1 upside down thus having the outputs above the input shaft aka like a ZF 5ds-25? I know the UN1 can have the crown wheel flipped so it could be possible to mount upside down and thus having a setup similar to the ZF box and inverted G50...

    IT LIVES....

Just some of the many pics I took. The #63 GT40 was a very bespoke build by a local fabricator...it actually runs a Jerico gearbox that goes via a small drive shaft to a custom drop gear transfer case back towards the Jerico into a diff. Odd but it works. It also run an alloy monocoque. The...
