    Car Wiring Diagram Software

I'm an electrical & electronics engineer and its hard to beat a pen and a piece of paper, sorry better still a pencil, rubber and paper, then stick them all together with sellotape (scotch tape). CAD is fine for communicating and sharing data, if you don't have to, then lick the lead and go. K

    Henk, Mid Wales UK, Non-GT40

Henk, welcome, be interested to see how you get on, once you get it finished and all-pimped-up, she'll be banging on your door. Brett, I'm rolling about here.

Bob, my sills have suffered from the problem you describe, where sitting on them, which is often during the build, has caused them to bend. I would suggest that even with your braces the problem will occur and you will see them bent in the voids between the braces. You could consider using a...

Bill, I think a bubble is a good idea so at least then you have the option of a helmet. Do you have a roll cage?

Tornado TS40 Build Belfast Northern Ireland

Bill, thanks for the HU, I actually plan to have a centre cable shifter, so all the linkage between the sill and seat is coming out. Presently the floor straps are just sitting in place, I have to mate them up to the holes in the bottom of the seats, then drill and tap to M6 or poss M8. I'm not...

Those paying close attention to my build (probably both of you) will notice the shift in activity from the front bay to the cabin. Basically, bar the electrics, the front bay is finished. My effort now is to finish off the cabin, again bar wiring, as I'm leaving that to the last. The engine...

Nicks Forte Scratch Build - to Stunning Mk1 GTD

Nick, I don't know much about brakes! I was prompted to ask as I looked over the images of your chassis. My chassis was basically fully panelled when I got it, so any mods involving a welder were a bugger. If I can give any advice, it would be useful to consider if anything needs addressed on...

Ian, that's a good 6d worth. I was thinking about a kick-up plate, in the first instance, see how I get on, have you tried the plate yourself? K

    Tornado GT40 in Texas

Guys, I'd be interested to know if anyone has or can do a temp and pressure test and/or simulation.... I don't want to 'waste' a whole load of time deepening the nostrils if the difference is marginal, to the running temp. In other words, does deepening the nostrils and adding louvres simply...

Tornado TS40 Build Belfast Northern Ireland

All of Sunday afternoon was absorbed one of those 'that'll-just-take-an-hour-tasks'. I bought a part finished car, problem is that some of the regs have changed and there are a few areas where she's non-compliant. "Every seat must be securely attached to the vehicle structure, or other obvious...

    Andrew's GT Forte build.

Andrew, would normally say go for it, but you've done that bit, congrats and welcome to the club. If you need any advice, there are loads of helpful people around here, even the silliest question can generate meaningful answers. K

I thought I'd post a pic of the footwell panelling,... I know there's been tutting on street corners about this, but what the hell they're my feet. Anyway it's going to be carpeted, so you can stop yer tutting and roll yer eyes.

The throttle pedal was a bit stiff and did not have a lot of travel, so moved the cable connection point closer to the fulcrum, hopefully killing 2 birds. The travel before the move was about 4cm, now I have about 6cm and it is much freer. FYI, I moved the connection point in by about 2.5cm (1").

    EPAS (Electric Power Assist Steering)

Hi Bill, can you send me the details of the sensor, I don't really need info on the speedo (I think you sent it previously, but....) it may be fairly trivial to take the existing pulse and use it (very likely without a diode). Alternatively we could reprogram the one you have to have the...

    EPAS (Electric Power Assist Steering)

I'll keep youse posted. The push-button product I have now delivers the lowest (high speed) assistance constantly, unless you press the (momentary) button, then you will get 60 sec of high (low speed) assistance, allowing you to park etc... I also allow the user to turn it off, with a long 5 sec...

    EPAS (Electric Power Assist Steering)

Got my 'push button' EPAS assistance adjuster circuit finished, "EasiPAS", no knobs, just a push button of your choice! The front of the '40s are light, so you'll rarely need high assistance. How mine works:- After the 10 sec start-up delay the EasiPAS outputs, for 1 minute, a slow speed...
