No, really not the right kind of machine for Bonneville. And cleaning up the mess after....

    Steering Column cover??

I have a full column from my SLC never installed. It's on a shelf gathering dust. Happy to send you the parts you need and scrap anything left that's not spoken for. If you want the whole thing, it's yours for shipping. I'm North of Dallas... BTW, I went with a race column, hence no need...

    Texas Mile 3/2025

For those not in the FB group... Car spent a few days on/off the dyno straightening out some minor but important issues. Then went to Texas Mile to make sure it's solid for April BBORR. With conservative AFR and Timing, the car made 699WHP with the boost solenoid at 50% and rev limiter at...

    A.J.'s SL-C build thread

AJ, what did you use for the mechanism inside the mirror (to allow the mirror adjustment)?

    Aftermarket shifter options?

Quick update. Cables are in. Don't appear much different than originals. BUT... shift SOOOOOOOOOOO much better. Can "feel" the gates now. This is with the RCR standard shifter. Next long run is planned for October. Will see if they have fixed my melting problem.

Australian Performance Shop modifying the shocks of the SL-C

I've been thinking about Afco 16s. We use those on our Sprint Cars. Double adjustable with remote reservoirs. Remote adjusters are readily available. I think current price is about $550/each. We have some going out for rebuilds this week - I think it's $80/each if not damaged. These are...

    Rearview Mirror Mount - SL-C

Mine is 3D printed with Nylon-CF. Holds 2 CanBus/O2 controllers/gauges and the ball-mount holds one of the Mirror/Displays. Clamps on the overhead bars as you can tell. However the Mirror/Displays suck. The mirror part makes glare bad and reduces image brightness. At some point I am going...

Restarting my SLC project in West Texas

With the popularity of semi-mat finishes, plastidip or wraps fit right in. Unless you are going for a simple classic paint job, it will be dated in a few years. In West Texas you are always one good sand storm from needing a repaint anyway ;)

Has anyone tried one of those electric boost power brake setups?

Does anyone with a driving SLC with manual brakes feel like they would rather have power breaks? I absolutely understand wanting power steering, but I’ve never wished for power breaks in any of my cars with manual brakes.

    Aftermarket shifter options?

I'm knowingly going to resurrect this from the dead.... Melted my cables recently even though they have high $ silicone/fiberglass insulation where they are close to exhaust. Will re-route a bit, but ordered from http://www.controlcables.com per Don V above. FYI, the high temp cables where...

    Vent screens??

The rest of us just let the car eat small animals... I have coolers on both sides to make sure the animals come out in small pieces.

    SL-C Driving Experience

BTW, Great info from Howard above. Guys don't be afraid to do your own alignment. It's not rocket science. Just takes care and patience. Some of the settings are personal preference within reason (caster and toe), so don't hesitate to change. I run a bit more toe-in than Howard (front and...

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

Sorry, never ran "B"s. Have tried a few non-Wilwood pads in our Wilwoods. Only thing good I can say about any of those is they are cheaper and the local shop always has them on the shelf.

Sealing front SLC body to chassis

I used something like Kurt did. But the foam sealing tape I got expands a BUNCH. I have a couple, don't remember which I used there, but they come off the roll about 1/8-1/4" thick and expand to 1" or 2" (depending on which it is) in a short time. Used the same to seal top of the radiator to...

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

We use BP30/40s on the Sprint car. 40 on LF, 30 on Rear. The 40s grab on application - desirable on the Sprint car LF as it helps turn the car. Both work well cold and hot.

    New Transaxle Option

The gear whine won’t be too bad since it’s behind the engine.

    SL-C Driving Experience

I'm with Mesa. It's all about how you set yours up. Personally mine is setup hard as a rock and marginal height for the street. It's not the least bit twitchy (when it's right). Mine is used mainly for Open Road Racing where speeds are 130+ for 20-28 minutes at a time. With the downforce it...

Looking closer at this engine option

If you are looking for a boosted application (eventually), you probably don't want a 427. The large bore does not leave much cylinder wall causing various issues. Over the last few months I've put a LSX376-B15 (GM Crate Engine) in mine. Probably the same block as the Blueprint Engine above...

    High Powered Starter For Graziano

My starter had an issue with an LS7. Upgraded the battery->starter wire and then spun it over great. 4 gauge was TOO SMALL even with the battery in the engine compartment. I now run 0ga with battery up front and a disconnect switch.
