    SLC 24 Howard Jones

On the Sprint Cars, we went to BP-30s on the front and -40s on the back with Super Alloy rotors. No brake problems since, have been very happy.

    Graziano gear position and display

The Graz has no gear sensors other than reverse ("Backup-Lamp Switch" as they call it in the manual). This is the "sensor" that is mounted on the Shift Unit cover. You could use switches like the existing reverse switch to make a "Neutral Switch" (sense when linkage is centered linear &...

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

You may be a bit north of 540 ;). I have a 383 here with 11:1, AFR 220cc. With a healthy street cam and hydraulic rollers, makes 531hp on the dyno @6500 with 93. That's with a single plane intake that fit under a 2" raised C3 corvette hood and long tube headers. Those 400s unshroud the...

That's been a loooooong term gripe. Glad I had munchkins in the house then I could use for free labor.

    Another headlight ?

There are guys that do HID conversations on existing housings. Truckers have a guy the regularly use. He could make sure the aim is correct for the new angles. here is the set for my truck https://www.hidprojectors.com/collections/freightliner/products/freightlinerm2

Severe rear end wobble on hard accel

Howard, We've been running enough downforce to take off the road reflectors (literally 100s of them in 10 minutes). But with the bump springs and now less downforce, that's not happening. I'll try less pressure and see how it does and how that effects our temps. We are running real street...

    S2's Build Thread

Bump springs can help a lot.... just one more tuning aid. I have two stages (three springs total) that engage as the car gets lower (or wheel gets higher).

Severe rear end wobble on hard accel

Howard, Do you track yours at those pressures? Your and my "track usage" are totally different, but I run > 40 psi (cold) all the way around. Less if the wing is off.

    Traction control

I have that "cheap" trigger wheel with only 16 teeth or so. Works fine for VSS. But I'd expect you want the ABS tone wheel (more teeth) for traction control. Keep in mind you are measure axle speed which is about 1/3 of a typical RWD driveshaft speed.

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

If you switch to 2.25" springs, that problem goes away. You also get a better selection of springs.

    Aerodynamics question

I'll add my 2-cents based on practical experience with the SLC. My radiator outlet is trimmed slightly larger. No flap. Nose is WELL sealed around the radiator. Street splitter. Fender louvers. With the CF wing mounted above roof height... Car has a bit of a push at 150+. With wing at...

Recommendation for adding a sight gauge/tube to aluminum tanks

Rich, your cap on that back tank is going to be a bear once the clam is on. Ask me how I know.... ;)

    Trailer type/height for car?

I trailer mine regularly so I'll chime in. With an enclosed trailer, any normal person will not be able to drive it in unless you have the big opening door like in Bill's post above. A trailer with a winch makes it much easier to load and if it's got a wireless or long corded remote it makes...

Drop gears or not to drop gears?

I started off with LS7 and no drop gears. Car redlined at about 172mph. Gears where so low I generally just used 2/4/6 (did not use the odd gears). I now have a 4L turbo engine (turbocharged) that redlines at 8,000rpm and have the 1.04s. Even with a higher revving engine the drop gears are...

Using an EWP as an auxiliary pump to the mechanical

Just saw this post. I use the Davies EWP150 *and* an a Davies EBP23 pump. I am currently running a Toyota 1UZ, turbo charged with water cooled turbo and waste gates. For a while I was running a Water to Oil Oil cooler as well. Mine is currently setup as: Booster pump runs with ignition and...

    My Texas Title Experiance

I've decided to Title my car. So I was researching Mark B's not paying tax in Texas. THIS IS CORRECT! I also noticed that it looks like you should not have to pay for custom plates for a "Custom Vehicle" though this is contrary to what the DMV paperwork says they are doing ($40/yr). ** On...

    C8 engine and transmission

If you have a running car, it probably won't be that difficult to reverse engineer the communications with the TCU (or to control the trans directly). Clutch engagement handling will take some time and a test mule (and perhaps some clutch disks) to get correct. But I think you can hang up...

    Aaron's SL-C build...

At one point I had LS7 with LS7 manifolds, cats, no mufflers, side exhaust. With the manifolds, there really is not room for Cats and Mufflers - might not be impossible, but real tough. With true headers, you would not have room for any effective muffler. Not that I have a problem with that....

    Fling SLC Build Thread

It sounds a lot like our Sprint cars. Just does not rev as fast (keep in mind we run mechanical FI and no flywheel/harmonic balancer).
