    S2's Build Thread

This TPS was designed for Jenvey (they list it as tp8rh/lh) so why not try them: they list it for £104.00 and you can take advantage of the weak pound.

    Scotts build thread

If the rear diffuser used an exponential curve rather than a linear slope (as it has now), it would be more effective, allowing you to reduce the length of the diffuser ( by about a third) for the same effect,

    Power choices

Iron block, Medium Riser aly heads (Shelby?) and hydraulic roller cam. The 427 block was definitely a step up from its lesser bretheren , I assume the modern copies adopt those advantages as well. Some mk11s ran 50ida webers so the 8 stack isn't an unprecedented look. A lot of engine...

    proto 289 head

Well it's not a stroker- sorry to disappoint. The heads are quite modified; heavily ported with 1.94/1.6 valves and a machined fire ring on the head face. 5" C&A aly rods, modified 1M crank, hipo caps, Ross forged pop ups. No cracks in the ex port area despite the port work.

    proto 289 head

I will investigate further later today. It has a 6 bolt 65 block and the rods are aluminium ( came with spares).

    proto 289 head

I have been dismantling a 289 engine I bought some years ago and and found the casting # SK28984 on the heads. It's an ex drag racer engine that seems to have been built by Rousch. The only info I could find said they were a prototype for the 351W. Anybody got any more info?

    Track records?

From the slc forum: Raver Motorsports took their SL-C into new territory this weekend when they tripped the lap timers with a 1:49 lap at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). This is not just a very quick time, but a new lap record as well, shattering the previous record of 1:51.5. It's also...

Big Bend Open Road Race Report

Sorry about the engine - my guess would be a rod bolt failure.

    Dean's GT-R build thread

How about using Hi-Lok bolts - they have a very shallow head and are tightened blind so you would only have to access the tunnel once. Aero stuff so tech sexy.

    More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

'Jesus, it's so simple... I'm running for President next year ( Citizenship application in the post.. as we speak.' Sadly you have to be born a US citizen to be President - so no President Arnie etc.

    More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

Karl Popper put an end to the idea of 'multiple inductions' some 70 years ago. The fundamental quality of a theory that allows it to be deemed scientific is that it is capable of falsification; AGW as a theory is not and is therefore pseudoscientific claptrap.

    Humble Joe Biden

"Edit: Of course the existence of such a toxic opposition will only drive the Government to the Right..so it will be interesting.." I think you're wrong there; the Conservatives will attempt to occupy the centre left ground vacated by Labour in order to hoover up the votes of moderate Labour...

    383 SBC quad 48 IDA 200hp 248ftlbs ???

Just looked at the vids ; he took that to about 3500 rpm, must have had it set for a V6!

    383 SBC quad 48 IDA 200hp 248ftlbs ???

It is possible to set the rpm pickup incorrectly by entering the wrong firing interval. A quick comparison of the dyno rpm readout and the vehicles own tach would show any error.

    383 SBC quad 48 IDA 200hp 248ftlbs ???

I used to own and run a Dynojet facility so have a modicum of experience. The dynojet software and control system corrects for intake temp, air pressure (inc elevation) and humidity. Results can be output in Din or SAE (slightly different correction factors). Trans losses (negative horsepower)...
