Pat - your balancer is for an "internally" balanced motor and the spacing (so the web says) is for an 86 to 93 mustang assessory system. That may explain why it is much further forward.
Note - Mine uses the conventional 28 oz.in. external balance and hence that part number I gave you. Ford...
I am running a Ford Motorsports shorty water pump. Here is the front end. The CVF pulleys are single belt. The crank pulley requires a spacer which they sell, as does Ford Motorsports. You need to measure to determine what is needed.
The Ford motorsports balancer is both 3 and 4 bolt. Pic attached. Mounted to a SCAT 302 crank in a stock 1986 Ford 302 block with stock timing chain cover. The balancer comes silver but my builder paints all of his black.
I have the same Aviaid pan as you and am running a Ford Motorsports balancer M-6316-C351. The face of the balancer is exactly 2.75" out from the front face of the pan. I used CVF single belt pulleys which aligned perfectly with the use of one lower spacer on the crank. The back of the...
I've wondered the same thing. Of all the pictures I have of the Original road cars, none have backup lights with the exception of this car. I think they were added later, but don't have a source for them.
I am going out on a limb and say it's a CAV from the way the front brake air inlets are formed on the edges. What are the two silver objects sitting on the hood?
Are you certain the drive is not installed? The ZF casting has an opening there and the bolt holds the drive assembly in place. If it's not there and there and the builder did not install it, I am not sure you can install one without disassembly of the ZF. You need to ask one of the experts...
Check with Randy's Build. He has the same bell and starter. I believe your Tilton starter can also be indexed about the nose of the unit if necessary. Not sure why someone would have cut a giant hole in the sponson?
Mike: I would recommend you getting a 5 gallon water jug or large clean bucket. Mix your coolant and distilled water (recommended 50 / 50 mix) in that jug and let it sit overnight to make sure all air has purged from the mix. Evacuate your coolant system yet again and let it sit for 30...
You are using silicone hoses? And many are leaking? Something does not sound right Mike? T-Bolt clamps are actually capable of crushing tube so this really surprises me. Especially a water pump outlet? Good ole hose clamp is all you need to hold pressure.
