    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

This post covers installing the fuel filler neck. Continuing the theme of making this an ODB2 emissions compliant build I need to insure the fuel cap seals up when performing something called an EVAP leak down test. Other builders have reported the supplied Sparco Cap can leak where the cap...

    Dusty's SLC Build

Dusty, I had similar fit issues with the wheel base being a bit too long for the body, on post #295 documented how I adjusted the wheels to center in the body… https://www.gt40s.com/threads/joels-sl-c-build-thread.52098/page-15

    Dusty's SLC Build

Dusty, I had a similar issue with the passenger side front clam. The front clam was slightly warped but wasn’t hitting the spider as you describe. I put some weight on the area and over a period of weeks/couple months the fender relaxed and flattened out. Can’t remember how much weight, maybe...

    Ken's SLC build thread

Ken, I plan to cut my springs off and test it out in the coming months. Assuming this solves the problem it will be a bit ironic that such a simple fix could be the solution. Almost every builder has given up on these. I read various threads on modifying the arm on the calipers to apply more...

    Superlite SLC Build Questions

Either the LS3 or LS7. I believe the LS3 is still available as a crate engine from GM. Keep in mind you will need a shallow Corvette Oil pan and select the drive belt Accesories that fit well into the chassis. Low mount alternator and AC compressor bracket. There are various configs for the...

    Superlite SLC Build Questions

Carr, Welcome to the forum. Similar to you, the SLC was my first kit car project. A few opinions/recommendations from someone who is still assembling the car. 1)With regard to engines, keep in mind the engine compartment/chassis will need to be modified for a V12 or V10 and will add a ton of...

    Dusty's SLC Build

Rusty, Nice progress. Curious how well the windshield fits? For the Delrin spacer approach and location, check out Johan’s thread post 49-57 https://www.gt40s.com/threads/scandinavian-sl-c-build.51991/page-3

LS3 crate engine EURO6 registration in Austria

Also, My guess is the LS3 may need to be the production version and not a higher horsepower version. Otherwise the stock tune would not work at all. Part of my reason for the LT4: I wanted high horspower in a stock engine so I could use a stock production car ECU and not the GM Performance...

LS3 crate engine EURO6 registration in Austria

I’m doing something similar with ODB2 for registration in NJ. I don’t know if this will actually work, but taking this approach. Production ECU and swap harness with front/rear O2 sensors, full EVAP capability. Hopefully no tune needed because my state emissions may check for a tune.

Front tire poke at zero toe and zero camber

Last piece of the puzzle. I measured the dish in each wheel and I was surprised to see the fronts have deeper dish than the rears. The shallower the dish, the more room you have for the calipers and deeper backspace. Now I’m thinking the fronts need to have less concave shape and more...

Front tire poke at zero toe and zero camber

Ok, a little more data to try to figure out the possible issue and fix. The backspace on my F14 19”x9.5” front rims are 6.375”. Also, I can fit a 3/8” block of aluminum between the caliper and the spoke with maybe 1-2mm to spare. Some of the compiled backspace info so far: Stock 18” Z06 Rim...

    Dusty's SLC Build

I can empathize for sure. I’ve had at least a few of those mishaps. I keep saying “the lack of space is the enemy of progress!” But your car looks great! The lemons is a lot of fun. I have a friend who has competed in Lemons for at least the last 7 seasons. I was invited to join his team, but...

Front tire poke at zero toe and zero camber

Thanks Murray, this is very helpful. Can you post a couple pics of your tires? To show the amount of poke and also how they fill out the wheel well.

Front tire poke at zero toe and zero camber

After thinking about this request some more, if anyone with a 9.5” front Foregestar Wheel(doesn’t matter the model) can measure the backspace that would be a big help. Even measuring from the back of the highest point on the flange to the outside of the tire instead of the rim would work. My...

Front tire poke at zero toe and zero camber

Ok, I’m revisiting this thread. I’m doing the final alignment of the body and wheels before I mount the body on the chassis and still dealing with what I think is an excess amount of tire poke. I have the rear lower forks all the way in and the front lower forks have two turns out to help pivot...
