    Graziano Gearing and Drop Gears

The way I interpreted it, the Drop Gears are the first set of gears that take the drive shaft and “Drop(reduce)” the RPM from the drive shaft into the trans. The drop gear ratio directly affects the ratio of all the drive gears in the trans. For example, HCF sells a pair of drop gears which...

AJ, glad you got to the finish line, putting some real miles on your SLC and enjoying it. It looks great!

    Graziano Gearing and Drop Gears

Neil, That’s a good question. Not sure where the term came from, but seems like a common term for mini-coopers. I found this simple definition… Drop Gears - Transfer gears (primary, idler and input gears) It briefly goes like this - the crankshaft provides drive through the ‘drop gears’...

FS USA Superlite SL-C wheel bearing upgrade parts.

Hey Ken, OK, I’ll purchase the Dulaney Hub Adapters without the X-tracker bearings.

FS USA Superlite SL-C wheel bearing upgrade parts.

That is some very nice engineering Ken. I recently added my speed sensors to the rear axles and was thinking I really don’t need sensors up front. Unless I wanted to do ABS. If I wanted sensors up front I think it would probably be the active sensor type. Ok, I’ll get back to you on this.

FS USA Superlite SL-C wheel bearing upgrade parts.

Ken, Can the Dulaney adapters use standard C7 bearings? If so, I’ll purchase the adapters. Thanks, Joel

    Graziano Gearing and Drop Gears

I have an LT4 and chose a .904 drop gear set. Car not on the road yet, but essentially the same 1st gear ratio as the C6, and about 2100 RPM at 76 MPH. My hunch is the .76 is too tall for first gear. The Audi clutch is not known for it’s durability. You may enjoy a video I did on this topic and...

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

This post covers connecting the PCV hoses. With the exception of the fuel filler hose all the hoses on the car are finished. Big thanks to Ken Roberts for answering a bunch of questions and helping me figure out how to route the hoses for the install. My goal was to set up the system as though...

    Avoiding Fuel filler static electricity

Thanks Alex, The one fitting I could find in aluminum is very short and would be covered by the hose on both sides. If I make a barb adapter I found some low static plastic that is gasoline compatible. Just didn’t want to spend time making one, but that is probably the route I’ll go.

    Avoiding Fuel filler static electricity

Hey everyone, I’m planning on connecting a C7 Corvette cap less fuel filler neck with a 1” to a 2” gates fuel filler elbow. My question is can I use an aluminum reducing barb fitting or would that potentially creat a static electricity problem. Or should I make one out of plastic. I have a mill...

    Joel’s SL-C Build Thread

This post covers the final install of the throttle body intake reversing elbow and air intake tube. The elbow design I came up with clears the frame without modification and is about 10” long. The throttle body that attaches to the end of the elbow is not that light and I am concerned that...

    Dusty's SLC Build

Dusty, congrats on the first start. It sounds totally sick! Question for you. You mentioned you still need to bleed the clutch. So at this point you started the engine with the clutch engaged and no issues with that? I assume the trans is in neutral and filled with oil. Was wondering if I had...

Best practices for keeping heat in header pipes?

I asked to quote these downpipes and they were $292 each. They have some other pricing examples in their web site. A guy who had his Ultima exhaust done who has a YouTube channel seemed very happy with the results. He had the whole exhaust covered. Not sure if that included return shipping...

Best practices for keeping heat in header pipes?

At some point I tried to find some real evidence that JetHot coating really reduces heat and I could only find things that looked and read as though they were advertising by the vendor and not independent information. One guy who built an LT5 Ultima on YouTube used Cerakote and wound up...
